GMT ii LN update??
Do you think Rolex is going to update the all black GMT ii soon? I'd love to see it without the green GMT hand and writing.

You're not alone wishing for that. But Rolex does what Rolex wants.
Even if they changed the GMT hand to red, you wouldn't see one on your wrist for at least 12 months from now, and that's IF it is released at Basel '18. I think a complete revision of the reference is likely to happen first without any changes to the existing line up. |

I think the Coke would be a priority for Rolex.

They already updated the all LN gmt with the BLNR. What more could you ask for?

Yes. But I think Rolex follows history as with the 16710 and waits until late cycle movement upgrade is ready. I could see the LN's GMT hand color changing to red. BLNR being discontinued. SS Coke taking it's place. Cosmetically, staying largely the same other than an EasyAdjust version of the Glidelock clasp with an abbreviated adjustment range.
For the above to happen, Rolex has to feel comfortable with the profitability of producing the bi-color red ceramic on a larger production scale than they currently are. The BLRO is their 1st generation so to speak and gives Rolex experience producing. I couldn't tell you how long it is for profitability/adequate margins. I'll be lining up to purchase for sure though |
