I really expect a more open debate on this matter rather than a rude response. I was hoping to run into open minded people on this site, however I am having a hard time with many of these responses. We have a few people who posted facts they have found online. yet all the rude responses seem to be just opinion.

That's sweet! We had a 1960 MGA 1600 MkII when I was growing up. And a '52 MG TD. My daily driver in high school was a 1973 MGB GT with wire wheels and overdrive. My college car was a 1980 MGB Limited Edition. I tracked one down a few years ago to relive my college days.

Quirky on the mechanical side, but a lot of fun.

wow nice look on the old MG. I enjoy the original look of your car and yes you are right they are a quirky great driving car. Very similar to old jags however without the large price tag. My college car was an 84 audi 4000 quattro which is something I also tracked down recently. I found a clean example with only 115k and it was all original wearing its Zermatt silver paint...84 was also a quirky year for audi as the car has power windows in the front and hand rolled windows in the back from the factory!

Not to be picky but judging by the name calling and the foul language you used in your PM to me I can't but help to assume you also live in your grandmothers basement.

Some rather embarrassing responses from both sides in this thread unfortunately.

Possible explanation is that this anchor is from 1960 era before Imperial Unit and Metric Unit reaches agreement on conversion rate.

Wow, you found an Audi 4000 that had somehow amassed 115k miles? That IS rare!!!

Lots of old children responding. I sold the anchor yesterday to a dealer in Beverly hills. He felt it was authentic and paid well for it. Thanks for all your help! This was my first time on the Rolex forum and with all the children here, it will be my last. This turned into a very tough place to get information. Most people here are not very helpful

Also here is the email from the author of "history of the rolex anchor"

Hi S,

Thank you for your mail. Yes it is correct that rolex used the same 200 m anchors designed for submariners and put a green dot on the depth rating to accompany the sea dwellers. Does your anchor have a green dot for 2000ft on the other side? A picture from both sides would help.

It was not just for the sea dweller but also for the transition from 200 meters to 300 meters for the sub.

Kind regards, Arnoud

Actually 2 dots and 1 baguette dot.
