Rolex etched crown
Question to Rolex Submariner owners. I just purchased a used SubC no date on the forum from a reliable seller. I don't see an etched crown at the 6 o'clock position. Is that something that is not on that specific model of Rolex's? I have a Milgauss I bought from an AD and i know they do not have it due to GV crystal.

There's definitely one of my SubC ND, it's hard to see at first...requires good lighting and the right angle.

I used a torch shone through the edge of the glass to see it on my Daytona, agree it is difficult to see and virtually impossible unless in the correct lighting.

I've got a sub no date also, it took me a while to find it.....it's tiny and can't be any more than 1 or 2mm in size......I held mine up at the window at an angle so the sun light to see it. Even then I really couldn't make it out, it just looks like a tiny smudge...it wasn't until I photographed it with my iPhone on closeup that I could make it out....it still want crystal clear but I could make out it was the Rolex crown........try it at you window with sunlight shining on it....the shape will be sort of like a tiny tiny tiny prism

What I did was shine a light from 12 at an angle toward 6 o'clock. That was the only way to see it.

Also noticed . There are 2 etched crowns. One left & one right on 6 o’clock.

Funny, I've had mine for a few months and assumed it wasn't there because it is an older model, but yeah, I just shined a light in the sapphire at an angle and it's there. Very small and thought it was a smudge at first. It also made me realize that my eyes are getting old as it's tough to focus on it (-;
