Dear bros,

I usually see QR code is TRANSPARENTLY pasted at the side of the new watch. but the one i saw yesterday is pasted on a WHITE sticker. does it mean it's not brand new?

the white sticker was on the watch when you bought it in the AD shop?

Yes, it is under the clear film/sticker. Actually still on it now. I haven't taken the film off yet.

I picked up a Tudor this week with a white sticker. Never thought to question it to be honest. I am sure it is legit!

Both transparent and white are used by Rolex/Tudor. More than a QR code, it is a next gen 'bar' code. From a mechanical stand point, it is 'easier' for a scanner to 'read' the printing over a white backdrop vs polished steel.

What information is contained in the code? Do you know?

The possibilities are endless. Factory, ship date, central warehouse (Rolex has a BIG storage area in Dallas/FtWorth), inventory...they can track every movement/place that specific timepiece has been through from manufacturing to point of sale.

Once the watch is sold, the warranty card is swiped (like a credit card) and this: a) starts the watch warranty b) tells Rolex that piece has been sold c) takes it off the dealer's inventory and d) places that item on the next shipment to re-supply

Somebody scan it with a QR Code reader. I bet it takes you to Rolex's webpage for that watch.

Had no idea there was a storage facility in Tx. I thought all US based watches were originated and stored in RUSA in NYC

They have several 'hubs', one of which is in Dallas/Ft Worth. I have seen special orders arrive within a few hours to some AD's in TX

It is not a QR code. It is a 2D Data Matrix code. You could down load an app on your mobile phone and read the code.

I tried it before, didn't do anything. I have other watches that have it laser etched in the back case and it doesn't work either.
