Heritage black bay experts -help!
I picked up a black bay today from a reputable collector but I'm worried that he might have a knock off and not know it. The case number and serial number engravings look different than the ones I've seen online.
The watch came as a full set. Box, papers, etc. But we all know those are available from china. So I'm looking for some insight. Is this right? Am I just being OCD? Or is this a knock off???

I am wondering about the style of engraving. It seems a couple of early 2013/14 black bay red cases were engraved this way but I can't find a pic of a 79220N case with this type of engraving. Here are a couple of dial shots. I'll post more if needed.

It seems fine to me. I'm looking at my BB right now as a reference. Model number, serial number... don't see any problems. I'm not sure what you mean by the engravings... do you just mean the text on the dial? The 79220 differs from the new Black Bays that come with the new Tudor in-house movement instead of the ETA based movements. The new models have new text, and a shield Tudor logo instead of the classic Rose logo. Again, it looks fine to me, but I'm no expert.

That is interesting I've seen a few like this and thought about authenticity as well. Black Bays from AD's have laser engraved serials not the stamped kind as seen above, from what I've seen. I'm not an expert but the fakes are quite good so it's hard to know.

Mine is exactly like the OP's and I bought it from an AD. There are two generations of the Black Bay and mine is the first gen.

Mines the ETA version bought new from an AD and the numbers look a bit rough.
Sent by Taptalk from my phone which rather annoyingly and randomly rotates my pictures the wrong way around whenever it takes a fancy. I am sure the damn things got a mind of its own. :-(
