I think it's a fantastic watch.
Yes agree,,
Even though I love the BLNR I don't know anyone that dislikes the standard black...

I love my LN and prefer it to the BLNR.

For me a GMT should either be Pepsi, Black or Coke (in that order). The BLNR just does not look right to me. Call me old fashioned (I am) but the blue and black does not look like a traditional GMT to me. The BLNR is a trade off as it was the easiest colour combo for Rolex to do on ceramic ( the Pepsi is far harder to get right on ceramic and many bezels are rejected leading to greater cost through wastage which is why it's only offered on a high cost white gold model).

The LN has a more traditional look to me and is just elegant and refined. One of my favourite watches ever.

For me. I'd had always wanted a GMT Master. When I bought one. I didn't care if the GMT hand or one line of text was green. They were a bonus! The GMT was always for me. The newer features of the trip lock crown and PCL's are exceptional as well. I tried the BLNR and didn't like the bezel or blue GMT hand.

I really find the GMT function useful as well and it saves me looking up the time in th UK on the "dumb" phone.

But the colored bezel dates from 1956. And it's the original concept. I personally like the black bezel. It's my second choice behind Pepsi. But the colored bezel, representing daylight/night, adds something extra.

Yes, as mentioned some think the GMT should have the bi-colour. In the ceramic I have the LN as the BLNR didn't do anything for me personally. I love it. I actually like the bit of bling with the pcl's and the bezel. Love the older GMT's, but have a 5 digit sub LV for a bit of variety.

Couldn't one say the green hand and text are a more positive colour than red?

I'm guessing it's more to do with Rolex's "colour" being green, but red spells danger and green "good to go" for me.

I'd have chosen black or maybe coke. Pepsi is a young man's mix, and BLNR does nothing for me.

I think if I could turn the clock back, I'd go for the LN instead of my BLNR.

I've not seen anyone refer to the LN with 'hate' either. Strange thread...................

I've never heard of any "hate" towards it LN GMTs. They've been around and selling for 45 years, since 1972.

If it seems more people opt for a bi-color bezel GMT it's probably because that is the classic feature-look that came on the original design in 1954.

Bezels are decorations 99% of the time these days, something to coordinate with the mini ship anchor bracelet. So people are paying a $1500 premium to get a little blue in there.

Ya I think it's perhaps more exciting, but at anywhere between $1,500-$2,000 more, I don't know... both are amazing.

Black bezel GMT looks especially nice surrounding a green dial
