I saw a quote that summed this forum up the other day, something along the lines of 'it's like walking into a crack house with 30k and asking if you should try crack'..... I'm now fairly convinced I should get both |

I wear my black-dialed 15300 with t-shirt/jeans/sneakers all summer. The RO can dress up or dress down.
RO and Daytona is my dream pair. Do it! (Although I'd recommend black or blue dial instead of white)

I've got a white-faced Daytona, I'd LOVE the Blue RO but not sure funds will stretch that far...

OK now I have a second I'm going to show off some photos which may be of help.
Look at these comparisons, for me the 15400ST is by far the best suited to my personal style and casual wear. The leather strap gold AP definitely needed to be worn with a long sleeve shirt to look right I think. The gold Daytona was too small for me so looked a bit stupid dressed casually, it was my fiancees watch anyway, but shows how the extra size of 15400 makes it look good with short sleeves. The same goes for the 5711 Nautilus as for me it looks a bit skinny on my wrist (for my tastes) and so I wouldn't really use it day to day, the 5980 would work for me thanks to the extra size but is significantly more expensive. The ROO does of course have the presence, but for me it lacks the classiness of the other watches, which is why I prefer the RO - specifically the 15400ST - as it blends a stunning, elegant design with the larger size to still feel sufficiently modern and sporty. If I had to sell all my watches and keep only 1, I'd keep the 15400ST as it always looks awesome. Plus I think the bracelet is the best of any watch. If I find a good deal on one and save up a bit I'd love to add a 15400OR with black dial. |
