Tough call. Both are great watches for different reasons. I got the call for a DSSD about a month ago and I went for it. I love the watch & wear it often. I'm still waiting for a call on a Daytona, which I also hope to aquire at some point. I didn't have to choose between the two, so it was easier for me. All I can say is to pick the one that makes you smile the most.

You need to look at the specs. the SDDS does not compare IMHO. They are amazing, the power reserve alone is like 4x's better, the only thing the SDDS has going for it is it's ridiculous depth rating. No offence to any fellow members of course, the SDDS is a nice watch, but for the price, you have to shop around, that's all I'm trying to say. OH, you can get a bracelet also, it has lug holes for easy strap changes, the perfect "tool" watch.

Deepsea for every time. I have one and it is brilliant. I think it is more of a hit with those that like different brands than those that only buy Rolex. So if you like Brietling, Pan, IWC, Omega etc...get the Deepsea.

I'm lucky enough to own a SS Black dial Daytona, i think it looks great. However, after trying on the dssd and appreciating it's thickness and size, the Daytona looks a bit small on my wrist.
If i could turn back time and had the liberty of choosing between the DSSD and the Daytona, i'd choose the DSSD. However, In terms of potential investment value and value retention the SS Daytona would win. My 2 sants! :) |
