The Annual Rolex Calendar

I'm relatively new to the forum and definitely new to Rolex (proud owner of a Hulk). I've become rather intrigued to understand what is on the horizon from the company. From what I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), any new models are annually revealed to the world at Baselworld. Does Rolex offer pre-Baselworld announcements of new models or are they completely hush-hush until the BW conference? For example, how long before last year's event did people know about the SS SkyDweller or the DaytonaC the year before? Are there years where there are no changes at all?

Thanks.

It's pretty hush-hush until the actual unveiling...but Rolex has been doing more teasers lately the week before. At least it seems so.

There's always something changed, although some years are more subtle than others.

EDIT: Oh...and forgot to add. If you don't want to wait until Basel, just check with your local AD. They always know what's in store for us the consumer. And if you can't make it in to your AD, just be on the lookout for threads that start with "My AD said..." You'll be in the know for sure.

Noone knew except guys who had cousins' friends' friends who heard rumors.
However i think a guy who runs a blog/website predicted/seems like he knew about SD126600.
On a more serious note, Rolex put up a few tasers on IG a few days before. That is as far as it goes.

Wow that Cellini chrono would be really cool. I tried on the Moo phase and it’s gorgeous but i think overpriced.

I’m not surprised you have a beef with it.
I agree it’s totally and udderly overpriced.
I think Rolex are trying to milk it for all it’s worth.

Even the teasers are nothing more than a very vague image that really gives us no helpful information.

That's quite a rare sense of humour there. Well done, sir...well done.

They are clever, a few days before Tudor slowly unveil theirs so we are all drawn to analysing and critiquing those ... and then bang, Rolex can hit us with their ones.

I'd say more medium rare but whatever.

A Cellini chronograph would definitely be a huge change in focus for the Cellini line. From a dress watch to a dressy sports watch. I am trying to wrap my head around the idea of chronograph as dress watch. As a Cellini fan, I love the dial he did, but I just cannot see Rolex going in that direction.

I do wonder if we will see the Sky-Dweller annual calendar movement in a Cellini design as the Celllini line seems to be embracing complications.
