Redesigned DeepSea Blue - I didn't see that coming!
Nice! Got the wider bracelet finally, and new movement. Figured the JC was discontinued but instead we get a new & improved version!

I prefer the original - like a wide body 911 - to each his own!

Weren't there a bunch of people saying the DSSD was for sure discontinued? Slight finishing mods and new movement isn't really discontinuing it. I told a guy that just bought one in December that I heard it was being discontinued so the value of his was going to be really strong... told him he got lucky... Now I have to eat crow. Rumors... smh

This updated version is a much more cohesive design... glad they fixed the bracelet.

What's cool now is that it seems the new watches have a little Rolex crown in the swiss made.

Biggest issue was the bracelet, now that it’s fixed the watch is much more balanced. Still a bit big, but a more compelling offering

It had a three year limited run and is referred to as “commemorative version”, so I wouldn’t be so sure?

Don't count on that as that is just not how it works with Rolex at least from a historical perspective. If it is like 99% of Rolex the value will go up!

1st gen D-Blue will do fine, it'll steadily increase in value over time as the first generation and true commemorative. Though with the new version, it's not the skyrocketing that I would have expected to take place if it was just outright discontinued.

I honestly feel a little gutted at the moment as this new one looks pretty darn spot on and I cant see "adding" in this case. |

the original deep sea wont because the black dial distinguishes it more.

Same here. Supposed to be collecting my deep blue for my ad next week. I prefer the new one lots more. Could I ask to transfer the money I’ve paid onto a list for a new one ?

Looks like the clasp has changed to the submariner/SD50 style flip lock. If that's true I don't like that change.

Looks like both Black and Blue dials are being updated.
De-contenting the clasp seems unlike Rolex. Making up a goofy name for your steel? 100% Rolex.

Whilst the new one may follwo the design philosophy of the SD43 Brian, you have the proper "commemorative" Deep Sea

Well I put my name on the list they said I was #2. It would be awesome if Rolex impressed me and actually came through and I wouldn’t have to go grey.
