"intentionally created scarcity" - who started this urban legend?
Where is the citation? The Rolex Forums? Friend of a friend? An AD? |

I agree completely! Love the anticipation and build-up to each Baselworld along with the guessing and speculation. I'm not disappointed in anything really. I personally was waiting for a SS Pepsi even though the consensus was Coke. A great hobby indeed. Cheers!

Rolex has definitely mixed things up for us these days. I know the jubilee is a fan favorite by many, but I wish there was a oyster bracelet for the Pepsi ss GMT. I have to admit, if I had to choose, I feel like the BB GMT is top on my list. Although, it's early and I have to start seeing these guys in person.

The boo-hoo is strong every year with the annual Baselworld tantrums.
To be honest, I agree with everyone who finds the whole thing a lot of fun. Like some others, I'm not even thinking of buying another Rolex, but I gasped audibly when I saw the SS GMT BLRO. The anticipation and surprise are really the point, not to feel upset if Rolex didn't make me the platinum Sub that I would totally have bought, weep/wail. (Maybe next year....) Nobody dies if Rolex doesn't make the color bezel you wanted. Just relax. If it's too much, look at the Tudor releases, or Omega, or Patek or GO or... |

Random Thoughts on New Releases
I love Basel. SIHH, Basel and Masters week(s) are things I look forward to every year. Whether or not I like any of the releases well that’s another story.
This year - I have zero interest in any of the Rolex releases and agree with some of the aforementioned comments - HOWEVER - I am going the new release Patek route. I look at many other manufacturers — and I would submit if you cast a slightly wider net you’re (everyone) going to find something you like. And I like hearing everyone’s opinion...(there’s many opinions here I value) that’s why I spend so much time on TRF. Just my .02 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I dont know why they have such a limited release. They could easily made a coke and fixed the submariners.
I've lost interest in modern Rolex's. I might just concentrate on omega's and get that tudor heritage back |

#1 you should change your avatar...you seem pretty mad.
this is a forum, we speculate, dream talk sh@t all day, learn and ask question...that s what it's for. Yes it sucks if you own the YG gmt, because now there is a watch that look like the YG at 1/3 of the price. Sell it and buy a S.S and you will have cash left for some other one. i see your point and disappointment about PM. go an drink a cold one, you will feel better. at the end of the day, people who knows watches will know that jubilee is S.S and oyster is YG...it s all in the details. |

Basel is a fun show whether you like all the releases or not. This year, I will go and buy the Tudor black bay Pepsi and call it the day. Wallet is happy

I own a BLRO and I'm not upset at all about the SS Pepsi. It's different enough IMO and I always wanted a Pepsi on a Jubilee. I plan to purchase the SS Pepsi and wear it and love it in the same rotation with my BLRO.

1. THAT'S IT???!?!
2. That baby-shite GMT is godawful. 3. Not too keen on the stainlessification of an iconic white gold piece. Now, if that had been a stainless Smurf... |

Been checking the site pretty regularly today -- so many threads on Pepsi GMT (I'm guilty of contributing to this!).
Two things I haven't seen anyone really bring up yet that I thought was at least slightly surprising... 1. No additions to Cellini line this year? I took last year's moonphase addition as a sign Rolex is very serious about further expanding the collection. Maybe I'm right and they just need more time! 2. No new Milgauss. Really did think there was going to be some kind of addition this year. |
