wait some more or... ?

Stooopid wait times for a stainless steel Daytona with a white face. It's a high production watch....not something crafted by an ancient civilization deep in the Himalayas.

Anyhooo.....what about this instead?

The Omega is a sharp watch but don’t settle. Get the Omega if that’s what you want. Otherwise you may regret it.

Instead? no. I wouldn't. In addition to? Maybe. While you wait? Maybe.

If you can afford it, I think having a speedy would be great, but I'd personally go for a speedy tuesday.

My dealer's wait list for the white Daytona is a mile long and I'm in the middle somewhere....after a year and a bit of waiting already...AND I've bought stuff there. If I bought 6 new platinum Rolex's I still wouldn't get one any time soon it seems. Ugh. Just for giggles I'm also on the list for the new red/blue GMT with the jubilee bracelet. I figure some time 23 years from now I'll get a call to come and buy two watches I forgot about.

I don't think you'll be happy settling for the Omega if the Daytona is what you truly want.

This. I’m not wearing my Omegas (speedy pro and seamaster 300M) after owning Rolexes.

Cheers.

If I thought the Daytona was just months away...I'd happily wait. Patience, however, is not my forté. I really don't mind the Speedmaster. Yes I'd much rather have the Daytona...this is the Rolex forum after all, but I like this watch too. The black and white contrast is nice and the strap is pretty sharp. And my dad used to have an Omega...so there's some sentimental value in having the brand. Does anyone know Mr. Rolex and can give him a call to get him to make a few more Daytona's this week ?

I’m a huge Speedy fan but no way would I give up a Daytona for it.

Which AD in Canada are you waiting with?

people waiting for the white Daytona C is because they want the white daytona c, not because they need a white face chronograph watch period.

I bet you read somewhere that a few hardcore Omega fans were labelling it as the Speedy Daytona, didn't you? The egg shell white dial/enamel inserts on bezel is better on the bracelet rather than on the strap so yeah...but Naaahh.... Get what really tugs at your heartstrings, ok?
Would you mind if I decorate your thread with some nice related photos? Nothing to do here, it's a public holiday in Malaysia today in conjunction with the 14th General Elections

The omega racing speedmaster is amazing...especially if you got the wrist size for it. If your passion lies with the Daytona though...this isn't going to cut it...the itch will always be there.

I'd always look at that watch and wish I had a Daytona C white dial, if I wanted a Daytona and couldn't get from a AD, I would bite the bullet and got to a Trusted Seller, life it too short to settle and I think its only a matter of time until Rolex raise prices and narrow the gap.

I love that speedmaster. Gorgeous. I am like you, I think it is insane to wait that long for a dang watch, which is why I will never buy from an AD. If you want a Daytona just buy from a trusted seller on TRF.

My dealer said he's only had 5 or 6 white Daytona's come through the door since they were released. I need better odds. I guess I'll just stay patient until that fateful day several years from now. I seriously have a hard time paying $20,000 CAD for a grey market watch that's worth $14,250 CAD if Rolex would just make enough to satisfy demand.
