Oysterflex interchangeable band
Hey everyone,
I just a call from my AD and was informed that my 116515LN on an oysterflex is now interchangeable with a leather band. I guess this is a new option for 2018. I was told initially upon buying the watch that it was impossible to change bands, so I would have to look for something aftermarket, however I couldn't find anything. If you're interested, they are offering me the OEM black crocodile band for 530+tax CAD. I'll post some pictures when it comes in. |

That’d be great news if true! It’d mean that not only are the updating the way their leather straps connect to the clasp, but they will be updating all the clasps on the leather Daytona’s as well. The newer clasps with EZlink are superior IMO. What a win for OF owners.

I’d be surprised. Rolex OEM leather and croc is great though.

That's great, I started a thread this morning asking if the 116515 could go from leather to oysterflex. Appears that is the case, great options winter vs summer wear.

looks good. They were always interchangeable with the case. It was the clasp that was the issue.

wow very interesting. It seems rolex is treating OF and Leather as interchangeable. I've been told previously that Rolex will not sell Rolex leather straps for models that did not come with leather straps.

Has no one noticed the QC issue in the 2nd pic? Damn Rolex are going downhill lately.

Chadri, I am so glad you will now have options for your Daytona besides just Oyster bracelet, Jubilee bracelet and OysterFlex!

According to my AD, they cannot order the clasp and leather strap for my watch. I honestly never know whether or not to believe what my AD tells me; it seems that frequently, I know more than they do.

Thanks for sharing the good news. That’s the way it should have always been for any strap watch. And that OF should be orderable for compatible models that only came on leather in the past.
I’d say the same for Jubilee and Oyster bracelets but I’m sure Rolex would not. Comfort is on the wrists of the beholder IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I think you’ll run into AD resistance. And the endlink issue since they are different in bracelet models. Lastly, OF isn’t on SS - only Gold for the Daytona, right?

Or previous version (leather) Daytona with Rubber B strap.
Thus those with older or newer version of the clasp can enjoy either way. Anyone dare know the price of just the new Everose clasp?

Oysterflex interchangeable band

I thought you were going to ask the AD to do it - that’s where I was saying there could be a problem. Once you source 3rd party end links (like you did for the OF) then a leather strap should fit fine. But I believe you’ll need to get the leather straps from a 3rd party, too. I sent my wrist measurements (in mm) to my AD (as she stated the straps come in XS, S, M, L, XL) and she will see where I might fall into, I'm assuming XS (as I am an ED in the OF for both sides). She did quote the sides at $530 (pair)
Once I find out more, I will post. Hopefully, she will be able to source them for me.
