Rolex vintage Chronograph, Pre-Daytona spotted in the Wild!!!

Rolex vintage Chronograph, Pre-Daytona ...Spotted in the Wild!

Short version: I was at my gun show table Sunday and a man walked by, noticed a Rolex Sub in my case and I asked what he was wearing...He mentioned he owned two Rolex watches and one was a 1957 Rolex Chronograph his father gave him...Then his father walked up, gladly verified the story and I asked the owner if he would email images of his watch...He kindly agreed and emailed these last night...He mentioned that he had the dial refinished and the band replaced years ago...If he shares more images and details I'll post more.

Proof that there are great ones out there still!

I was on a plane sitting across from a guy wearing a beat-up Patrizzi 16520 a few weeks ago. Guy had no idea about it other than it was an old Daytona his wife bought him.

Haha that's great, I met a guy in the airport sporting a 1675, started talking to him about it and he paid $170 in 1968 in Hong Kong while serving in the Air Force, and continued to go on how all the astronauts had them, which made it that much cooler. He had a beautifully faded insert, and I told him that, then he told me the story about how he lost his original one in the cockpit of a plane while he was flying and he couldn't find it anywhere

BIG Question...the owner asked if I would look for an original dial. I assume that is a Unicorn. Suggestions? Thanks.
