New member with rolex question.

Hello from the great state of Texas!

I have been lurking for a while but decided to register and post a question.

I have a Rolex DateJust which I have owned for a number of years. Great piece with excellent looks, and very water tight.

A friend at work just got a new DateJust and I noticed the watch is a bit bigger than mine?

Now, mine is not the mid size model. Mine is the full size version.

Why does his appear bigger?

Kind regards and thanks in advance for answering my question.

The newer models feature the latest "block case" design which is larger at the bracelet lugs.

Personally, I do not think that these fat lug cases are an improvement, but they do make the bulk or mass of the watch appear larger...
