That's interesting, I always thought the whole case back would come off, and not just that dark grey center part.

That's really interesting to see! Is that the 11 or the new 12 version?

When you screw it off the steel part comes off first and then the dark titanium middle part can be taken off.

I regulated this one and thought it was funny to make a picture with just the outer caseback which shows the movement just perfectly!

Thanks for sharing! This is what I respect about the DSSD, it's only as large as it needs to be. No tiny-movement-big-case situation here.

I could almost see a good use of sapphire here for those who don't take these diving. Almost.

My sentiments, too. I am really OCD about movements that are small for a case.

Great photo!

I’m not sure what you mean? The movement takes up only a little more than the half the width from case to crown.

It's quite ubique in that it's a two piece assembly as shown in the break down pic above.

The outer retainer shown in Bas's pic is SS and the actual Titanium Case-back is ommitted.

How old is the watch?
Why did it require regulation?

Note the Rotor axle and how it's mounted.
It's a 116660

I mean, the DSSD’s case isn’t larger than what it needs to be.

Here’s the opposite example, of a very large case housing a small movement, not out of necessity, but all in the name of making a “Big Watch”.

Because it wasn't running within Rolex spec.
