I'm on a waiting list for an Explorer 2 Polar. Granted there's only one person waiting in front of me and I've been given an October-December timescale.

Speaking to the AD was quite interesting. He said they've sold more Polars in the last 3 months then they have in the two years previously combined. All SS sports watches are not in stock anywhere in my local and surrounding areas that I've checked.

They do the the YG Daytonas in stock though and I was just looking at them. Umm...wow!

So I’ve been on a waiting list with my local AD for a 116610lv for 15 months now.

My question to you guys in the UK is this normal or does this seem a long time?

Thanks

Normal but also a long time... I’d call and push them (nicely of course) not sure what your situations is (previous purchases etc) but honestly seems to me like the entire process for waitlists is “random” best to make sure you are on their radar (assuming you haven’t been in contact too much since you were added) - if you have called and touched base often then I’d probably consider a more forthright conversation and if that doesn’t seem positive consider contacting another AD (from a different parent company) if that is possible for you.

From my own experiences I recently managed to get a watch after a very short (6 week) wait with a London AD - conversely I had several AD’s in and around the area start the conversation with “5 years wait” and then when I said ok add me the list was actually “closed” this included a very local one that is practically on my street.

I can’t begin to stress just how Random (for those without serious spending clout) the waitlist game seems to be!
