I like it, that matters the most

Hey, just got an OP 114200 green dial recently. I love the watch. Love it. I wear it every day - not too concerned about keeping it pristine - keeping it the way my life happens. It’s the 34mm - I paid 5,000 otd. Even though I’m not going to sell or get rid of it but would this watch appreciate in value at all (didn’t buy it for that).

In 5-10 years time, going by history you'll probably get as near as dam it get what you paid for it. However just bear in mind that with inflation and currency fluctuation this will be a loss, nevertheless very few watches or brands are capable of this.

And that is how it should be.

Enjoy wearing it.

But I can’t help you with future value.

The true value is in wearing a Rolex on your wrist throughout the years, anything else is a bonus!
Enjoy

Try driving your car for 5-10 yrs and then try selling it for close to what you paid for it. If you can sell your Rolex for almost what you paid after wearing it for all that time, I call that pretty good.

I don't think you can consider it "appreciation" when taking into account inflation. But let's say 25 years from now, your watch will likely be worth a lot more than $5000. It could be $7500, could be $10k. Or I could be totally wrong and it be worth the same or less.

That model in particular isn't known for being a collectors item by any means. Traditionally the OP line hasn't had crazy demand and the 34mm and under watches typically aren't that desirable as of late.

No matter what though, as you know, the true investment is in the enjoyment the watch gives you. That will pay dividends every time you look down at your wrist.

Every time I look down at my watch, I think, that glance was worth a buck lol. I stare at my watches 1000 times a day haha. So I basically have a billion dollar collection by now

Maybe he just wants to share his happiness with the watch with us. It's a beginning member, it's a good way to start.

Are you trying to convince us or yourself?

"Loved it" so much didn't feel like going through the trouble to post a single pic?
