My watch collecting history - Introduction from The Netherlands
Hi guys,
after a couple of weeks of lurking around the forum and finding some very useful information as well as enthousiastic reviews the time has come to properly introduce myself. I'm 33 years old and I'm from the Netherlands, as stated in the topic title. I've been a watch enthousiast for most of my life, starting of with a Flik Flak watch that I got when I was about 6 years old. This is a Swatch owned children's watch brand. The strap is gone after years of abuse, but I still own the case (top left on the collection pic). After that a lot of 90's Casio's came and went. Unfortunalely I threw those out at some point... :( In high school I wore the Pulsar next to it, which was replaced by the white face Festina chronograph upon graduation. Then when I got my university degree the Armani came. I know, what was I thinking... but I used to love that watch for a good amount of years. I finally got interested in automatic timepieces in 2015 and bought the Davosa Ternos Professional Diver, which is a Swiss made hommage to the SD. After that the pace increased and the Seiko Orange Monster, the Cocktail time and the SKX 009 followed quickly. The gold Casio was a bit of a joke: I got two of them (a big and a small one) for my girlfriend and myself, so we could weat matching watches I don't wear it too often though. Finally, after a long period of gathering information and orientating I decided to get the Sub 114060 a coulple of months ago. I wear it everyday now with the exception of certain occassions that I consider 'too rough' for it. I know it could handle almost everything, but I'm still in that careful period. Anyway, a thread like this is worthless without pics... so here we go. Sorry for the long post :D *By the way... I blacked out the serial numbers as I usually see on the internet. Why is this exactly? Is it really that big of a deal for people to see it? |

Thanks guys! I was hoping that buying the sub would calm the urge for another watch for a while, but I find myself looking at DJ's and YM's all the time now... :D
I found more information on the blurring of serial numbers on Ablogtowatch. Since I can't post links yet, look for the article 'Why Are Serial Numbers Blurred Or Blocked Out On Some Watches For Sale?' |

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Sub.
I've always found that by the time I get home from the store with a new purchase I'm already plotting which model to get next in the back of my mind.
