I love my 42mm Expy so very much! I would prefer it a touch smaller, if I am to be completely honest. But besides that, I can’t say a bad word about it.

I think it is a dangerous watch to own, as it is such a great all-around piece that it is tough to leave in the watchbox any given day. I think that’s maybe a problem for the Explorer II line— possibly the best tool watch from Rolex, but lacking the flash or glam of the subs and gmt’s.

That's my sweet spot as well. 40mm is ok with the right watch - one with a bracelet that enhances the look and adds some apparent diameter. But 42mm is my natural ideal size for a watch.

I never liked white dial watches until I saw the Explorer II. I'm particularly enthused by the possibility of the ceramic bezel Exp2 mockup in the Basel 2019 Speculation discussion.

I bought a black dial because it had white gold hands, whereas the polar had black painted (seriously?) hands. Just couldn’t get past that.

Ended up selling black dial because it got mo wrist time, but wish I still had it.

I think the last of the previous 40mm with 3186 are a steal compared to 3186 Pepsi GMT Master II.

7" - 7.25" measured loosely with a cloth measuring tape.

I love my two month old black model.
