GMT BLRO dial swap successes?

After a drug out month of waiting on Rolex to decide, I finally got word today from my AD that my dial swap is a no go, and no reason was provided.

Recall someone else being turned down by RSC in Dallas in another thread on here.

Curious to poll the forum on who was successful and who wasn't in getting the swap done.

I have not tried because I wasn’t interested in having the swap done. Mine stays the way it was born.

Sorry Bill, I misread it. I thought it read, who was not getting it done. My bad. Again, I didn’t vote. Should be interesting though.

I would think that RSC's are too busy to make "modifications". And I am not certain that this sort of thing is approved by Rolex anyway.

Best to go to an independent shop.

No, it's something they've done for this model. My AD was also told about it at Basel this year.

I thought it was standard OP but they take a hardline on many things now, nothing is set in stone.

Well that's interesting. To say the least.

First they pull the plug on the blue without any notice whatsoever, and now they're refusing to honor what they said they would do last year. Hmm...

This is very interesting and sorry to hear they won't do it. I am very curious as to the reason given?

FYI I just got mine back last week. It took about 3 weeks and I did not get a new card but did get paperwork. My AD had to make several calls before they got a yes. Initially they had not heard of it even being possible when I called and asked in early Oct.

You say your AD told you about it after Basel but now is being told no by RUSA? My paperwork says late Oct so as of 3 weeks ago they were still doing the swap.

This was a Rolex approved dial swap.

Trust me, I am. Fortunately I like it even with black dial, but I'm not thrilled at getting jerked around, and then just "no."

No reason given... This is all by email with my AD as I am traveling. At some point I'll pop in there and see if I can get more info. Email just said they heard back it was a "final no" and no reason given to them.

When I first mentioned it to the woman that I usually deal with, the owner was there. You could tell she had not heard of the swap, and the owner commented, "no, it's legitimate. They told us at Basel." That was over a month ago.

Perhaps it will return with a 3285 inside as a 126719BLRO. I can't see all that effort to make a blue dial option and kill it off in six months.

A couple of months ago I was offered to do the swap but prefer my black dial.
I know Dr. Tom had no problem getting the swap done with a new card. All handled through his AD.
That was at least a couple of months ago though...

I remember Tom’s thread on this as well.

It was a while ago, but at the time it was no big deal.

Could also have something to do with the collection he has amassed through his AD

Bill do you think it's because it's a second hand watch and the card is not in your name? I hope this is not the case because mine is the same and I was going to send mine in after the holidays. But with a No from RUSA Dallas that's not going to happen.
I know Tom's is right from the AD in his name.

I wonder that myself. Hope to find out more in person....but I reminded my AD up front that second hand is the only option for some time now, unless existing stock was sitting (it wasn't) ....so I hope that isn't the reason but it could be.

Curious to hear from the others that were declined, if a reason was given.

Sorry that I missed the part about no reason given. Sometimes I'm a little slow

Let us know if you ever find out why. It seems to be very random and no consistent info being given out to AD's

That was me. I’m in a similar spot having bought a preowned BLRO. I may give it another go. If so, I’ll post results and feedback! I’m kind of torn. Love black but the blue dial has become the shiny object which I “cannot have.” Not being able to get it may make matters worse! I said I would keep it black in a thread several months ago... we shall see.

Just curious why you guys are calling ADs instead of RSC?

In HK & SG, ADs are selling the watches only (they provide resizing service). For after sales services, we need to contact RSC.

If one RSC won't do it, maybe another one will. For that swap, I'd call them all to find a winner. Amazing dial - I mean really truly stunning!

Where did you have it done, Dallas or New York ...

And can you post up a pic of your papers you got back with it? (block out your personal info )

I assume it was NY since the paperwork says RUSA New York. I didn't handle it, my AD did it for me. Door to door was less than 3 weeks. I requested no service or polish and they honored that. The watch is pretty much spot on timing wise and the scratches are mine, give the watch character, and see no need to have it polished. Did I mention the wg pcl's scratch every time you look at them?

In addition to the pic I attached, there is a second page with a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo as well as the estimated date of completion and that they would owe me 34K if they lost the watch while doing the work

I also received a one page retail summary page when they returned it that has model and serial number, date it was done, cost $0.00, and says "replace dial"

Very happy I did it. I like the blue way more than I thought I would. I think it is much better in person than it is in pics.

Something i might be missing here? Why someone suggest new warranty card should be issued after swapping dials? Dial colour as always is not shown on card.
