Incoming...Back to blue again

Hi guys. I know everyone loves the professional models (so do I) and there is not equivalent love for the Datejust in this forum, but I just want to share my new purchase today. It’s the classic DJ36 116234 with flutted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Long story shorts, I have been into watches for 6 years. At the very 1st day, my favorite brand is Omega and my 1st “nice” watch is the Aqua Terra Skyfall 38.5mm with the gorgeous blue dial. At that time, I had no interest in Rolex at all, not because I couldn’t afford one but because I thought Rolex is for old man with low tech only (Yes, now I know I was wrong and please forgive my 23-year-old me ).
Time went fast, the more I learned about Rolex watches (mainly from this valuable forum, thank you all a lot), the more I love the brand, its simplicity, toughness and design that has passed the test of time. I am lucky enough to have the Explorer 1, Sub and GMT before this crazy lack of professional models now. I still want to add the new Pepsi and Ceramic Daytona to my collection but I don’t see it happens soon since I will NEVER pay a premium to buy a watch. So I think it’s finally the perfect time to add another classic to my collection, the Datejust. I have decided it must be in 36mm, flutted bezel, jubilee bracelet, blue roman dial. And yes, today I am eventually proud to be the owner of this little beauty with the configurations as I expected. Just can’t wait to share with you

This setup looks very very nice. I with they offered this dial with the romans on the DJ41 - but your 36mm looks pretty spot on

Enjoy they are great.

Beautiful piece. G
Smart move to pick up a classic during this sports model crisis of sorts. I have the similar DJ II version with Azzuro blue dial. It’s my favorite. The 36 mm is perfectly sized for your wrist.

I have a DJ41 and Submariner and I actually prefer my Datejust. If I could only keep one of them it would be the DJ41 for sure. Yours looks great on the wrist.

Congratulations, it's a classic. BTW, I enjoyed the background story - you certainly own some nice references. Wear your new DJ in good health.

Unfortunately not. The roulette date wheel only comes with the stick dial, not the roman one.
