It's time for some GMT love....Lets see some pics!

Alright, I love GMT's and lately it seems like quite a few members have been picking them up.......... so lets see 'em. I went out in the yard and snapped some pics. of my two, I really tried to show the difference in red's, because there is a difference. I have read were some guys think they are the same, well, here is your proof, the "coke" (sorry Larry) is a few shades darker than the "pepsi".

Nice pics & confirmation that the reds are definitely different. I'd post mine again but I've blanketed this forum with the same pics long enough, lol...I need to take a fresh set.

Trev, I love my SS Daytona, had to sell a coke to help finance it.. but I gotta tell you, they are absolutely stunning watches and if the day ever comes I have to part with my "D" I'm getting that Coke again if I have to sell a kidney to do it!

I took a pic of my pepsi with a coke insert previously and couldn't spot the difference between the 2 red colours. Maybe the pepsi insert has faded?

Beautiful photos,...... What is the difference in bezel between the 16710, and 16760? the 16760, has a thicker, bold font, is this correct? when did it change, and why. Does the bezel change for the Fat lady, then skinny up for the 16710?

There is/was a difference in the coin edge on the bezel, though a service replacement would be the same. Font is a funny thing. Rolex has been nothing if not inconsistent with bezel font over the years.

Examples,

Here's a shot of one of the most famous GMTs - as worn by Tom Selleck in Magnum PI.

The gmt was my first rolex

I bought my first Rolex watch and it was a GMT 16750 back in the mid 80's I wore it everyday and everynight for 23 years and never even had it serviced until 2006 23 years without a service and it kept excellent time.Although I have bought and sold over 100 watches I still where it 80% of the days since 2006
Heres a shot on a zulu and the oyster band markers and hands are amazingly still bright white after all these years
