Hi, I used the one that comes with the Omega Speedmaster and it was the correct width. I also cannot explain what happened. Initially I thought I missed the hole but then it happened after about 10 hours driving. Once it was fixed wasted 8 days in the Alps. Probably wrong bars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hi, it is no holes 16570. I don’t know what happed but once I fixed it it lasted the entire trip. I was thinking I missed the hole but this is highly unlikely as I have been driving for a while when this happened. Anyway for skiing or any other sport I would strongly recommend the elastic straps made form parachutes (Erikas, ndcstraps). You just don’t feel the watch, much more comfortable that those smart activity watches intact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The sd4k 116600 does not provide much gap to fit a nato so the thicker ones may not work. (One of my pet peeves with this watch) Maratac are excellent. Toxic makes several great straps. Springbars with shoulders can be manipulated out of the hole by twisting the nato band especially if nato is a flimsier cloth type that will catch the shoulder, pull and release it. Having this happen on both bars at the same time is serious bad luck. For nearly 100% safety, use shoulderless spring bars and cut off with wire cutters when ready to switch back to bracelet. That is rock solid security.

No, never happened to me, but a while back there was this detailed discussion on here and the thinking was that it had happened in a few instances. I could not repeat it either. However I do know I feel total confidence with the shoulderless spring bars....which I buy from you by the way!

The Omega one (on the top) is thinner when the tips are very similar. After the incident I had no issues with the strap and I think Omega spring bars may be used if the Rolex ones are too thick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I can't tell. That pic is to blurry. If I still had a 16570 I would get a measurement for you.

There is so much mis-information in that thread i don't even know where to start. But I have tested it myself multiple times and made videos of what happen. I personally call b.s. on the subject. I have heard this forum folk lore for years and I believed. That is until I tried to recreate it. There is no physical way a strap can pull on the rounded edge of a flange on a springbar. If the flange had burs all over it like a saw blade I could maybe see it happening. But then a nylon strap does not fray is strips of nylon, it frays in small pieces. Shoulderless is the best bet for sure. So I am glad you use them. Hell I just wish people actually used the correct spring bars and that would stop some of the forum lore we hear. |

I dont think a NAto will suit a SD. Better to have the everestband with the rolex clasp

IMHO, NATO straps are FAR safer than any bracelet could ever be, Oyster or not, your chances of losing your watch to the ocean or concrete is HALF of what it would be woth a NATO. Do the math. As far as Maratac goes, I had one more than a decade ago, the hardware was exceedingly cheap, thin, stamped metal. I tossed it. I find Omega makes the best (although I have not tried Toxicavengers yet- that’s my next). Omega also produces curved spring bars made exactly for use with natos (allows for clearance from spring bar-to the case. No pressure on the bars= less chance of failure.

I understand. My next NATO will come from you for sure. Only difference between NATO and any kind of strap/bracelet is if one springbar fails? Bye bye nice watch (or damage at best)
The chance of double springbar failure is near zero, is what I was trying to convey. I absolutely love them. |
