It just dawned on me that the bezel markings on the SD4K (and maybe all SD’s) for minutes 1-15 are larger than the rest of the minutes. For as much as I’ve gazed at this thing since owning it, I can’t believe I’ve never noticed that before, nor do I recall others talking about it. Learn something new every day I suppose.

Did you notice that there are four tick marks between every 5 second interval from 1-15, but only three from 15-60?

That part of the bezel is normally used to time a safety stop at around 5m before returning to surface.

By the way, I love the minute markers, they make the watch. That's why I like it better than the sub.

That's always been obvious to me!!! 15mins is the safe zone for a dive. Afterwards it's time to surface.

I have to correct my own statement. Actually as seen above there are four tic marks from 55-15, three tic marks from 15-55. I guess the 55-60 is due to the lack of a number at 0 and makes it more pleasing to the eye.
