OK - your post made me very happy. First of all, CONGRATS to you. I am where you were 3 years ago and seriously considering the waitlist approach. This is one of my grail watches without a doubt. I currently have a Rolex Submariner no date (2013) which I LOVE - it is my first big lux watch purchase and still is my everyday watch.

Can you tell me if you worked with an AD in a large city? My guess is that the waitlists may be longer in big cities. Did you check in with them periodically just to make sure you were still "in queue"? 3 years is a long time. :-) Any background as to the process is greatly appreciated! Again, congrats. It's gorgeous.

you have lots of patience, i could never wait 3 years for a watch.

Most is maybe 2 weeks.

enjoy the watch and wear in good health.

My AD did not require a spending requirement to get on the list...in the beginning...as time progressed I ended up buying 4 watches from them that my wifed liked for her. I did check in periodically as I moved up the list. The challenge is if the owner has a buddy that wants the watch...you get trumped as they only get a few Daytona C a year. No method to the madness, just hang in there and be a good customer and it will happen.

So beautiful! Even though this took 3 years I bet this watch will always be very special to you because of the wait. I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the most exciting watch buying experiences of your life just due to the anticipation.

Good to see you hung in there.

“Just hang in there” being the sage advice. Incredible watch OP. Congrats!
