Rolex Boxes

I have noticed two different sizes of Rolex boxes for the current series watches. There is a larger one with a fold down front flap on the box with the larger green inner box and a smaller cardboard box with no fold down front and a smaller green inner box. Is this correct and has anyone seen the exact same type watch, same serial number series in different boxes. Does Rolex just grab whatever is available when they send out to the ADs? Just an observation.......

I noticed the same thing. One of my DJ D series with the large box, and one DJ D series with the small...

This is true. Usually when an AD receives a rolex it does not with the box that it provided to you. The watch arrived to the AD in a see-through plastix box then the AD has chooses a random box and puts the watch inside together with the documents

There are 3 different sizes depending on the material that your watch is made of. SS, TT and solid gold

The AD is supposed to use the smaller box for all steel watches, the larger box (with flip down front) for steel and gold/rose gold/platinum watches, there is an even larger box for all gold watches, and there is a really large box with side compartments (for jewlery) for all gold/rose gold/platinum watches with bling.

This is the packaging used by rolex whenever they sent watches to AD's

Then the AD has to find the normal box that we all know put the watch inside together with the documents and wait for you to pick it up

Yes, more than two sizes these days from US bound watches anyway. Here's an 18kt, TT, and SS models and their boxes from purchases over the last 18 months or so. Excuse the poor focus. Snapped it in haste awhile back.

Okay, makes sense now. My SS DJ came in a small box, and my TT DJ and TT YM came in a larger box. Thanks for the clarification guys.
