I too enjoy Watch Finder videos. Many times this type of video is boring and unwatchable, but these are quite good.

The difficulty lies in watches that are extremely expensive, but not as prevalent. Some of the fakes are of brands that only a watch enthusiast would know (RM, Audemars, Patek etc.) so it's very difficult to get a real one next to it to check if it's authentic.

It is getting very scary out there with both the new and old model replicas. Be careful out there and of course, buy the seller as well.

Absolutely... After I nearly fell into a scam it was
the AD route for me... At least I have peace of mind
and enjoy my watches instead of agony ...

Always knew that! It is very naive to thing they need us to create fakes!

Actually they do! But on basis I can not prove that exact detail - I can prove that "scammers" (sellers of fakes) on the likes of eBay DO post in these type of forums to see "if" there photos of their watches pass our appraisal.
If we state "fake cause you can see the LEC" then they remove that photo or a different angle

Sadly its a fact

Anyone else notice, but a lot of people posting "is this a real Rolex" in this section typically have like 1-2 other posts?

Maybe Mods can consider making like a 50 post minimum and 2 week membership criteria to post here?

By then I would think they could weed out a few posers spaming the site only to mine info from those of us who have been in the Rolex world for a while.

Just a thought.

They’re planting their seeds. Disappear for years and then scam people with it.

I think having a 50 post min would take some fun away. While it is mildly annoying that people use the forum to authenticate, we are watch nerds and I don't mind helping out newbies. I also love the random new users who post 'what they found in grandpa's drawer' like the late 50's milgauss that was posted about a year ago.
