Would you do it? Exp II+Omega SMPc for 116710LN

So I have been searching for a discontinued GMT LN and the gray premiums are in the 20%-40% over MSPR.

I have a potential trade of an Explorer II plus Omega SMPc with blue dial plus $2k on my end for a BNIB 116710LN.

Would you do it or wait to see if they release a 126710LN in an upcoming Basel?

What makes you think that anything released at Basel would be available?

No, I would keep what you have as you have a GMT and a dive watch, better all around.

If you like the gmt-c LN then I would go ahead and do it. Without being able to predict exactly what the future holds if you get what you like you will not have regrets.

Good point about availability (or lack of). I just had an AD tell me that if I spend $30k+ on a PM piece and I can have a BLNR Or BLRO.

I wouldn't only because I remember routinely passing on LN GMT's for 7500 6 months ago

Not even a little chance. Even if you like the GMT that is bad math.

Do you actually want a PM piece?

For me, I wouldn’t do that trade. What you have covers a lot of bases.

Just curious, which Explorer II? 16570 or 216570?

I don't think I would do that. I'd rather have those two watches than that one.

Sorry it’s a 216570 black dial. I had a choice of polar and black and really liked the black dial.

I’m not interested in a PM piece let alone a PM piece at MSRP!

Without knowing the condition of your ExpII and Omega, if they are in like new condition, I think it's a touch high on the out of pocket cash (by 500 or so, possibly 750). If they're several years old and the condition is good but not excellent, I'd do it. But do consider the GMT is a dressier sports watch in comparison to your existing pieces, and that the dial is not as easily readable as quickly and easily as the the ExpII or the Omega. The polished center links are also scratch magnets. I'd try to negotiate the cash down a bit and buy a rubber strap with the savings. You won't get many more opportunities to buy a 116710LN. I would do the trade considering these factors.

Thanks all. I decided to keep the Explorer II since it's in like new condition (being from March 2019). Will sell the Omega SMPc since I'm expecting a SD43 in a couple(?) months.

As much as I like the GMT LN, I think that train has left the station for me.

LN will probably be back eventually, Rolex is just cashing in on Pepsi/BLNR hype.

I doubt it will come in 2020 but maybe 2021 or 2022, with minor updates.

I'd keep the watches you have. Explorer II can be worth $6-7k, SMP is probably $2-3k, and $2k in cash puts you right at $11-12k and for that you could just buy that LN. Seems like the deal isn't in your benefit.
