What is happening is your first few posts must be moderator approved. So you make a post and it doesn't come up for a few hours or a day and you think no thread you make will ever appear. As you discovered it eventually will.

Your next step is to get to 10 posts which is where you can add a photo. So there are some steps to go through.

Apart from the fact that you were able to post about the fact that you can't post, I checked the previous 3 postings to see if they had been held for approval.

They hadn't. They posted in the usual fashion.
