Polishing an acrylic bezel
I searched the forum but couldn’t find info on this topic. In case its been discussed before I’d be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction...
A friend of mine has a vintage Daytona with an acrylic bezel that has a long thin scuff mark that stretches from 6:30 to 9 o clock, from the outer edge of the bezel to about half way into the bezel and not touching the crystal. It looks cloudy if you catch the light at a particular angle but otherwise it’s no biggie. He was wondering if there’s a way to polish this out, say with Polywatch. Has anyone had any experience with doing something similar or tips on what to do or to avoid? I told him to think *really* carefully before doing anything as he could make it worse so he’s hesitant but he says it bugs him knowing it’s there. I’m just dreading receiving a painful phone call one day after he makes a failed attempt... Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Tools; 10 September 2019 at 03:44 AM.. |

Thank you. I realize I made a BIG mistake in name of the topic. It should say polishing an acrylic BEZEL, not crystal. Anyone know how to change it...? So stupid of me... sigh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
