If it were not for the DeepSea, I'd still be Rolex-less. So many beautiful, more expensive watches out there and I would not trade my DSSD for any of them. The only reason I decided to spend a decent sum of $$ on an accessory was because of how much I liked the DeepSea. The more I read on this Forum, the more I appreciate all of the lovers and haters of this most unique Rolex. Both sides make me love my decision.

It all started with a GMT Master 16700 followed by the Submariner 14060 then a continuous craving and appreciation of all Rolex sports models.

Not a specific model, and I am going back something like 50 or so years ago. At that very young age, it was the shape of the cyclope that attracted my attention to the brand. Fast forward some more years, and it was the notion that the brand was usually certified as a chronometer (mainly Datejust) that part with notions of both accuracy and reliability. First acquired watch was an AirKing Date 30 years ago, that still work and look like new....the rest is history. Lovely watch, and lovely design. Enjoy in good health.

PS: With affinity with the cyclope still in place, my favorite now is the sub ND 14060---And no, I can not explain.

5513 Submariner.

Before that, I was completely content with my Speedmaster. I didn't had a single ounce of desire to own a Rolex at that point. That all change when I was at my favorite dealer, and saw a salesman with one. To that day, I couldn't get Rolex off my mind. Fast forward a few months later, and countless hours lurking on TRF. I was able to buy a SD. I don't know how long this fire is going to last tbh. Right now I'm flirting with the idea owning an AP 15300 or Big Pilot.

I was first interested in Rolexes when my friend Joe bought a ss datejust in 2001 following the purchase of his first house at the age of 18. Than after that I began to notice Rolexes on TV and saw all the wiseguys had a Rolex on. I fell in love with the DJ and DD, I finally got my first Rolex in May a 1982 Rolex Date TT, than a month later I bought my TT DJ.

I saw a two tone sub back when I was a teenager in the 90s, and really liked it. Then I got onto their website, and fell in love with the daytona.

Fast forward about ten or twelve years after I've worked hard for the goals I've set (one of which was to own some nice rolex watches) and the right time and season has come.

The GMT did it for me.
Seeing one on the wrist of my uncle when I was a child did it for me.
He still has it from 1967.

I had 30 watches from Breitling to Patek. The SS Daytona finally made me a New Rolex buyer.

It wasn't a Rolex but a vintage 1966 Tudor Prince Oysterdate with the small rose that started this passion with Rolex for me :)

Please share the model that caught your eye, which prompted you to own a rolex.
I think I first became aware of it from the Bond movies...as a child growing up in Florida all my father's friends that had boats and were "well to do" seemed to be wearing a Submariner. Ah, if I could only find those guys now...they'd be in their 70's. I'd give them $500 bucks for their "used old" Sub!!!!!

When i saw the Sub-C, its new look and its bracelet took the watch from something my dad would wear to something i wanted to wear.
