i just received my "pre loved" sea dweller today. i said goodbye to my 14060 in order to fund the 16600 and i must say wow. This has been the watch i wanted ever since i bought my first rolex. I think it exceeded even my highest expectations. It is a p serial with holes and a complete set at that. thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Lugholes are a nice touch for such "classic" watches like the 16600

Not only do they "belong" but they sure make things easier when swapping out straps / bracelet; I just bought my first tool-watch w/o lug holes and I'm not altogether thrilled about that...

These all have lug holes...

What a nice collection....and with lug holes. When even a Patek or an AP can have lug holes and still be elegant, I find it hard to understand why Rolex stopped them. I bet this is one of those things that behind closed doors they wish they had never did....at least on some models, like their divers.

Um, can you confirm that we're looking at a 16600 on a glidelock bracelet?

Awesome stuff—finally some visual proof of whether that combination is possible!

Any issues at all with fit?

It was a very easy and direct swap between the 114060 and the 16600. I used the pins from the 16600 and it dropped right in.

The overall fit is acceptable, but it is a hair off compared to the fit of each bracelet on it's correct head. I doubt that anyone would ever notice, but if you are a bit OCD with your watches you may notice it.

I would NOT put the 16600 bracelet on the 114060. The design of the back face on the 16600 bracelet combined with the no lug holes of the 114060 will equal a very very bad time trying to get the bracelet off the 114060.

I love the 16600 and don't mind the old bracelet, but when I wear the SD with the glidelock bracelet on it, I feel like it's complete (almost like Homer doing an open mouthed drool/zone over pie etc. lol) if that makes sense.

Makes TOTAL sense—and your description is very helpful considering the only thing stopping me from picking up a 16600 is the old bracelet.

I AM a bit OCD with watches, so would you mind describing a little more just HOW the fit of the Glidelock bracelet on the 16600 isn't quite perfect?

Thanks again!

The fit between the SEL and the lugs are off by a fraction of a mm. Not a lot but you should be able to see what I mean in the pics below.

SD on its original bracelet:

And the SD on the Glidelock bracelet:
[IMG][/IMG]

It is off a hair, but the comfort of the Glidelock bracelet (for me) more than outweighs the slight dimensional difference.

Fantastic—I think I see what you mean, but I can't imagine it would be enough to bother me. I am going to try and get ahold of that combo. Thanks again!
