One thing I've found interesting is of the 1/2 dozen or so compliments I've received on my 116713 in the year or so I've had it, almost all of them have come from younger people, primarily guys in their 20's. For me this sort of debunks the "TT is for older people who are stuck in the 80's" knock on them.

I have a DJ, SS, pastel blue dial, stick markers, smooth bezel. It was the most unimposing Rolex with the date function that I could find. No comments from anyone ever. Very low key, and I like it that way.

Last night, family and friends went to dinner for my birthday. I wore my YG Day-Date, a polo shirt and shorts. An older gentleman sitting across from our table was leaving as our main course arrived, and he motioned to my watch and told me that I had a beautiful timepiece. I thanked him and noticed that he was wearing a Platinum Day-Date as he turned away. We both nodded as he left the restaurant. I could not help but think that he could have been a fellow TRF member.
After the gentleman left, my neighbor looked across the table with a puzzled stare, and asked me why he mentioned my watch and not his watch. I looked down at his wrist and gazed upon a rather extra-large, gold-tone watch, I later learned, in the car, was an Invicta. I just shrugged, and told him that the man at the restaurant had the same model watch as I was wearing in a different color.
Sometimes, I get the feeling that I belong to a very secret society, that only members can understand. OK, WHO HERE IS OLDER, AND WEARS FUNNY TIES?

Let's put it this way: I rotate 5 Rolexes, an Omega Ti PO and three UNs. Turns out the women in my office were talking one day about the crazy (to them) number of nice watches I wear and voted Platty their favorite watch, next to my UN GMT perpetual date, which is also the only one on a strap.

Now that it is cold and long sleeve shirts a must, no one notices.

Only once did someone compliment me. I was wearing a Hulk and he said "nice Invicta". I thanked him. Otherwise, I have seen men looking, but not saying anything. Women are more interested in my shoes (I like Gucci's).

My blue dial Monaco gets admirers, Radiomir does too.

Rolex, not so much except when I walk into a watch store wearing one, any watch store. Why? I think it's simple code for, 'This is no joke, I'm serious about my watches'
