For a brief second I thought this was some type of new Marvel release. It does look intricately cool, but certainly only for select clients.

Seriously though, thinking about what could they release that is suitable for regular production and common clients (instead of LE designs by Mayer, etc), I can’t imagine any more significant variations on the RO or ROC 41mm that hasn’t already been released, unless you want to count new dial colors. The real avenues for regular production novelty lay in the Code, ROO, and Remastered remakes. Probably you all can imagine new possibilities more than me, but these unobtainiums are getting a little frustrating.

Would have to see those crown guards in person. They look odd in the render.

Most intertesting takeaway was AP's 20% increase in complications vs last year.
Is the market asking for more is this part of AP's wider strategy to make them more exclusiosn with a higher avg per watch cost.

Thanks for sharing this.

I thought she came over very well indeed. Very professional, easy going and clearly very well immersed in the history and culture of AP.

I suspect she could well be a safe pair of hands after FHB.

I think the answer to this is 100% yes. The ROO is still positioned at a higher price than the RO and is primarily a chono.

The CODE is best with a complication and the chrono, starwheel and QP looks great compared to the three hander.

The 41mm three hander is a bit bland IMHO. It works so well with the jumbo because it is smaller and more historic, but I find myself desiring the smoke dial white gold 41 more and more.

I think this is becuase the jump to a QP is so big and I find the 41 chrono doesn't wear as comfortably as the slot I want that watch to reside in. Too much like a mini ROO without the water resistance and more durable bezel.

Tthis is where I think AP is dropping the ball a bit. We really need a dual time in the 41 and CODE. I also think it would be a huge seller if it was priced in between the time only and chrono...although I highly doubt that will happen.

Need something between chrono and QP besides starwheel ad gold/ceramic IMHO. Maybe they have been holding out for the new crown only adjustability for a dual time. I was thinking about it the othernight, and not 100% sure if they could do it becuase of accidental turning, but crown all the way in turn one way to wind, the other to adjust the travel time zone. Pull out to position two, one way for quick set date (home time) and home time.

Good points.

I'm sure everything is coming soon!

It's pretty impressive what has been released and what is expected to be released later ;)

What I really appreciate most about Ilaria is how she is truly professionalizing the organization for sustainable growth. That includes taking the next level in terms of customer experience, while continuing to deliver some outstanding innovative pieces.

FHB is and will always be awesome (arguably at a level that JC Biver has made in his legacy), but there is and was some funny business along the way much like a startup. That being said, any business leader who can successfully take a less than 500M business to over 2B in a short period and exceed its two competitors (Patek and VC) is hyper successful.

I am certain Ilaria will elevate the brand even further - and excited what the future brings. Get ready!!!

I don't like complications. However I do like the direction she wants to take AP.

I wonder how she'd compare to Thierry Stern.

What a beauty the new Tuscan dial Code is.
Again the real life photos are much nicer than the renders on the website. And I am pretty sure in person will be even more striking.

Went back to the boutique today to take another closer look at the new RO QPs since I couldn't make up my mind before. After some discussion we decided to ask for the sand gold model.

They also had just received one of the new green 43mm ROOs. The shade of green they used mixed with the black ceramic was really beautiful. It's a bit more subtle than the bright blue version which I also like quite a bit. I was told this watch hadn't been allocated yet and I could take it if I wanted to lol. I was half tempted but decided I need to be good and pace myself and will wait for the QP first. Really a super lovely watch.

haha thanks! I just picked up my first Offshore last week which makes it 3 watches in 3 months. I need some time to recover... I do like this green 43mm a lot though and will definitely consider it again in the future.

The new QP is just so damn good. It is approaching icon status that competes with the Jumbo.

Im looking forward to seeing the new green ceramic ROO! A friend here locally just got one.

I have the now-discontinued blue/black ceramic. Yes it's a bit MUCH, but it's probably the only super-bold watch in my collection and there are times that I want to wear something bold. I'm glad I got it.

Congratulations on making the movehh. It does seem like this QP is a cornerstone model. I am curious to gheht your take on whether you see the dial as being “crowded” given the size of the subdials compared to previous versions? It occurs to me that this may just be noticeable more when compared side by side. But how does it strike you in person?
I imagine larger subdials help legibility though, correct?
Thanks for your impressions.

Thanks. I viewed the QPs on two separate occasions and spent maybe 1 hour each time looking at them and playing with the crown settings. The dial did not look crowded to me and was not something that even crossed my mind. My wife who was with me both times also did not mention anything about it and thought all 3 versions looked beautiful. In fact it wasn't until afterwards when I saw videos/photos online of people discussing it that I realised it was different.

I think you would only notice a difference if you saw them side by side or if you own the previous version and are used to it. Personally I don't own any QPs so this will be my first one. Legibility on all 3 versions is great and not an issue for me.

On the contrary, I found the sand gold dial hard to read. It’s black on sand gold while on the SS, it’s white on blue.

I had a hard time spotting the 24hrs hand on the 9 o’clock subdial as it’s a tiny teardrop shape hand, while the lower contrast of black print on sand gold made it harder to differentiate. Sand gold looks beautiful though.

I agree there is less contrast on the sand gold model so the black text kind of blends in a little more, but I really did not have any problems reading it and it did not bother me/was not something that I noticed.

The 24 hour hand and the leap year hand definitely stands out more on the blue dial since it's white, but on the sand gold when you're looking for those indicators I think it was still plenty legible.

It's good to have choices though, maybe one day they will make a sand gold with a contrasting coloured dial

This is very helpful, thank you. I don’t have any myself either, but a QP is the next model I’d like to request. You highlight a key point, which is that you spent time with them and checked them out on two different occasions. I will need to make the effort to check them out at boutique first, instead of requesting without seeing. Thanks again

At the beginning of this video, she brings up complications for first time buyers and younger buyers. Even the QP.

Since they don't have all the holes to drill and line up, I would assume they could produce the new QP case in less time...but I am curious about the new movement versus old.

Are they planning to increase QP output significantly? Is there a world where the new QP is available to you as your 1st or second AP?

I did have a brief discussion with my SA about what the next few pieces for me would look like. The impression I get (at least as of last week) is that high complications is harder than steel Jumbo, but easier than PM Jumbos. Openworked models would be after both.

I'm not sure anyone can just walk in and ask for a QP RO, but I also assume there aren't that many people willing to drop $150K-$200K on a watch. I asked about a QP last year for my 2nd piece and was told it would only be possible much later on.

btw I did see an orange strap at the boutique last week when I was there, but it did not fit my 26238Ti. I was only able to hold it up to the watch to see how it looked, but imo it works pretty well. Personally I think the grey dial is such a neutral colour that you can use pretty much any colour strap and it would look great.

Thanks. I was thinking about a grey textile strap with white stitching might look cool as well.
