Those suede split toes are sweet. Great color, too.

Congrats on your new boots!!

C&J makes some of the nicest boots if you ask me.
Thanks!

Just got home. Ended up with these. Excuse the lighting. Will have some outdoor shots in the coming days!

Strange thing was that I went with a 9.5 E fitting on the 341 last. Have never worn a 9.5 shoe.

They look fabulous, I have 3 pairs of C&J, none are suede though, your pics have convinced me that my collection is missing some. Many congratulations, they look great.

Thanks Dave

These are my first suede shoes. Was always hesitant, but I'm glad I have some now. Sprayed them with some suede spray and they should be ready to go.

Somewhat funny, but something I appreciated happened at the store. I asked someone for help and then I started talking about lasts and the two boots (one of which I was wearing) and I think the manager noticed and sent a different person to help me. I wasn't trying to act like a know it all, but I did my research and already knew most of the lasts and fits so they swapped out the salesman for a more experienced one who knew pretty much everything and was able to spend almost an hour with me. Great overall experience.

Great looking shoes. Congrats!

You'll love suede. It's easier to care for than museum calf and other shiny leathers. Brush with a good suede brush and water spots just disappear. I'll usually wear my JL suede loafers on rainy days rather than my G&G vintage calf.

Thanks guys!

Ordered a suede brush as well.

Based on I believe Dan's recommendation, I pretty much just use Bick 4 on all my other shoes. Polish very rarely.

I don't need something equivalent for suede right?

I purchased a conditioner for suede but since I don’t wear my suede shoes as much as I do others I wouldn’t be much help, sorry. So far I just spray and brush them.

Yeah. I sprayed them a few hours ago. They are drying. Guess I'll see how they wear soon enough. The salesman had brown suede loafers on that he said were 4 years old. They looked worn but still great.

Better picture of the colors. Biggest concern was the spray altering the colors. Doesn't look like it did and they are pretty much dry.

It’s possible that you might be able to find some more information on Styleforum. I say possible because it’s been awhile since I was there and there wasn’t much there at the time about conditioning suede. Kirby Alison of Kirby Hanger Project has a number of shoe care videos for various stuff to include suede care. He does sell the stuff but find most of the information to be good. If it were me and I had the time and interest I would do further checking on Styleforum first. They have a massive shoe care thread that should have some info there. You can post a question as well but often find better discussion being covered earlier if only you can find it.

I don’t know about the product you pictured earlier but i’ve never had an issue with Tarragon Nano Protector changing the color. It comes highly recommended.

nice collection.

Add a pair of Belgian Shoes (brand name). Those are very cool to wear with color socks.

How do you thick the snuff Hardwicks will look with dark denim jeans?

Cant decide between the suede or pebbled grain.

I think they would look great with jeans. They didn't have the pebbled grain version at the store yesterday, but I think this color and material would work better with jeans in general.

Hey Dan,

Happy Sunday...

Could be a big week ahead...Cleverly and G&G in town next week.

I have a time with the former, depending on my schedule, I hope to check out the MTO from G&G...

I am thinking of some double monk straps - a medium > dark brown. Different enough from my antique whiskey Adelaides from GC. I thought about black pigskin...but since I wear more casual I may stick with brown.

I was looking at the pebble grain earlier today.... tempting.

Ultimately, I think the C&J 325 last is too blobby for me, but the 341 looks much better.

I’m jealous, sounds like great times. Two fabulous shoemakers for sure. I have a few things in black but brown is by far more prevalent and always a great choice. Other colors generally will follow.

Here’s to finding a good fitting Last and size. With these two shoemakers a shoe should be easy to find.

Well, Cleverly has my lasts...but perhaps they have to do a (new) "casual last" if I am not getting lace ups.

I have been watching several videos on Youtube from the Hangerproject / Kirby Allison. Great factory tour and interview with Tony Gaziano. The RTW shoes feel pretty bespoke. Not quite sure out it all works, but I would like to learn more. Maybe my short wide feet will get lucky.
