There's twice as many people viewing an old "OP41 who's got one" thread with 80 posts

I love my VC Sub forum or not. I told my boutique RG CdV is my next piece. Will post here sometime this year hopefully.

This thread is bookmarked for me! I can’t wait until I’m allocated the Dual Time I’m down for….fingers crossed it’s not the 5 years I’ve been quoted!

Can anyone here speak to how the 4500V and the 7900V wear on the wrist compared to a Rolex GMT? (Or better yet have pictures)?

I have a 7.25 inch wrist, but it’s more oval. I really want to consider an OS but I don’t want something that wears much (if any) bigger than my Batman.

You're in luck. The 4500V will fit far better than the GMT on your wrist. It doesn't wear any smaller or bigger but it sits better and is more comfortable.

(I have a 7.25" oval wrist)

A couple of years ago, I talked to an AD about getting a 4500 or a 7900. I finally received the Dual Time a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Amongst all my watches including an AP 15500, I am most impressed with this Dual Time. It's also my first watch with a date subdial. Not sure if it looks better on the steel bracelet or rubber strap? (of note, I'm currently waiting for an alligator strap that I have ordered for this watch)

Congratulations - looks great on both! I like it on white rubber as well. Wear it in good health :)

I have a 7.125” wrist and have owned 2 Rolex GMTs. I would say the 7900V wears slightly larger, but it is very balanced on the wrist, especially with the bracelet. It wear MUCH better than the Skydweller and weighs about the same.

I have a similar size wrist and both wear great. I really wanted the 7900 but found it felt a fraction too large, although I have larger watches so I'm not sure why. I would try to see both 4500 and 7900 in person so you can make the call.

Thanks. I feel like the case shape really plays into thickness. Aside from the GMT I own a TT Daytona, and the Daytona seems like it sits lower on the wrist, but then I realized technically it’s taller than the GMT (which is 12mm).

The dual time is spec’d at 12.8mm which should essentially be as tall as my Daytona, but it gives off the impression it’s thicker or wears bigger when I see video/photos of it online.

It does give off that impression, but once you put it on, it doesn't wear that thick as one would think if that makes sense

Agreed, though it does wear thicker than both the Daytona and the GMT. It’s well balanced no doubt, but it’s the largest of the lot.

I hope this pic helps. All in the same ballpark but I would say in order of slimness , Daytona first, then GMT and 7900v last.

Question for you guys. I am just getting into VC. I am very interested getting a blue 4500v. I spoke with SA and he said 8 year wait. However if I buy an 82172 (which I do really like) it’ll probably be a 4. Month wait for the 4500v. Does this seem reasonable or is the SA just trying to get me to buy a non overseas watch?

wow 8 years for a blue 4500v? Don't these guys know that you can soon buy them at MSRP on the secondary market? At least your SA is being transparent with you - was the 4 months a gaurantee?

I saw one in Hong Kong that went for HKD200k (that's £21k which is UK retail) and tried to bid but was 5 minutes too slow :(

My experience with the VC boutique in London has not been too pleasant tbh - I registered my interest for a blue 4500v in Jul-21 and they quoted me end of 22/23. I then followed up in Feb-22 and then they said 5 years. I called again recently and then they said they couldn't give me a time. It's just that they have two queues - one for existing VC boutique clients and one for the other and since I put my name down - there have been more "new clients" for that boutique hence my name has been pushed down the list.

Honestly, given where things are and how that particular SA spoke to me, I'd rather buy a watch in HK (no VAT and I think it is priced cheaper as well e.g. a 4500v is HKD178k vs £21k).
