Fantastic pics in this thread. Love the blue and red combo. My 16710 arrives tomorrow, looking forward to wearing it.

I started this thread a while back. It now has 30,593 views. Here is what started this thread- I bought a 1960's pepsi, sold it, then bought a 1971 pepsi- sold that one as well. Now I am getting ready to acquire another pepsi.. I can't wait. I will definitely keep this one...!

Pepsi
It was only a few years ago, and it's now worth twice what I sold it for...- Live and learn...

Owned mine for about a year and I haven't worn it in a while. I really like the Pepsi as the original GMT with the Pan Am tradition behind it (not to mention the new WG one seems to have made them more popular). |

Great watches, folks - some real beauties.
Here's another one for the thread: Nicely patinated early MK1 matte dial, with 'long E', and faded fuchsia insert, on unpolished case (1.6mil. 1967):

My wife gave me this 16700 many years ago and it was my first Rolex. I have had many great experiences wearing it including the birth of my first son and a few good stories with it as well (stolen by a small thief and recovered after 2 years). I really have moved in a vintage direction taste wise so I have been coveting some of the beautiful 1675's you all have been posting but I don't think I can ever trade this watch out for sentimental reasons.
I still wear my Pepsi in rotation on a regular basis and probably alway will. Great shots all |

-How long have you owned it...? 3 months, just got it back this week from authentication and tune up. Not cheap but 2 years warranty now and happy with work. It's a 1970. A small kiss right above the 24h that was present when I purchased the watch but that's okay. Character. -How much time does it get in your rotation...? I work too laborious of a job to chance at wrecking it daily so I'm thinking it will get about 8 days a month. -Why you own a Pepsi, not a coke or black bezel insert...? Pepsi is the ONLY choice. I always wanted 'A' rolex and after much research this is my one and only. Pepsi>Coke :-) Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about my watch regarding what I got? Feel free to do so via pm. |
