But where's the 12 o'clock pip? I believe the pip had to be raised to be officially allowed to be called a diver watch - so you can feel it inderwater.

Personally, I like Pelago too. But wouldn't bet on when Rolex will start to use 100% titanium on any of its watch.
Grade 5 titanium can be polished to a high shine. Most people looking at will assume it's stainless steel. Not being able to polish during service is a plus in my book. I'm not OCD'd enough to worry about marks of well loved watches. Well loved not abused.

Problem will be the cost of titanium (sourcing and manufacturing of the case) which will mean it'll have to be a optional reference like gold and platinum.

I definitely think there is going to be two new watches. A new SD and a new datejust or Cellini with pushers.

It's only a teaser. From a marketing stand point Rolex doesn't show every little details in order to create noise and provoke more discussion/speculation on the internet.
The bezel markings definitely belongs to a diver......I hope you're true because prefer a SD without cyclops....!

Would be cool, skippy!

Rolex needs to innovate this year. Especially since last year "only" had smal updates ( except the air king)

coming in pretty late in the game, but if the new sea dweller does end up being 42-43mm with a cyclops and red (or other colour) lettering, it'll receive all kinds of hate at first but will quickly become a fan favourite especially on these forums

happens every time.

I really couldn't imagine a bigger miss than a Sea-Dweller with a cyclops. I specifically chose the Sea-Dweller (and the Submariner before that) specifically because they DIDN'T have cyclops.

Agree. Adding a cyclops to a SD is a huge Miss in my opinion.

I think the crystal will be flat but the cyclops will be a bubble within the crystal itself rather than stuck on top it will be an evolution of the cyclops which hasn't changed ever, the updated sea dweller will therefore keep its identity but have a cool bubble cyclops within a flat sapphire crystal

42mm dive watch

Red lettering

Cyclops

Relative upsize of dial along with case(unlike DSSD)

New movement, I would see this as the major change to the diver line

Agreed. I remember the first reaction to the BLNR when that came out. It was very negative. But now look.

It seems that way, but truth is that at this stage everyone is very frank with their opinions, but once members have one we become respectful and decline to comment if it is still no longer to our taste. I don't think the size or price will make it a huge forum favourite but like most Rolexes it will have a strong following here.

I'm saying Turn-o-graph based on the few notches you can see in the bezel.

I agree it would sell well. I just don't want them to do it. I love the lack of cyclops.

Very few modern watches are released to strong positive response here. 116500, 116600 maybe DD40?

yes from the top of my head the platona and DSSD d-blue were both hated with a vengeance on this forum as soon as they were released

then when a couple celebrities / mods/high profile users on this forum buy it people change their mind

Dear Rolex,

Make the sea dweller with a cyclops.

Please.

Not only is that an awesome idea but, and I don't have to tell you this, it's the working stiff, and not the enthusiast on these forums, who make up the preponderance of your consumer base.

They want it to look like a "Rolex" more than they care for it to be functional and utilitarian.

.00001% of people who own a submariner or one of your dive offerings in general are ever willing to take it near the water much less even know how to dive in the ocean. Need proof, do a search on these forums for "can you wear your Rolex when ..." and you'll see that many people are hesitant to take a dump with their watch on because if they flush the toilet with their body oriented the wrong way, water particles may jump out of the toilet and onto the case.

No dancing, golfing, weight lifting, sleeping, having it in the bathroom while showering, working (I mean really) ...

And think about when you added crown guards ... the purists bemoaned it. You thickened the case ... people bemoaned that too probably. Precious metal Rolex' ... phooey. Shiney ceramic = purists cried. Thick lugs = purists whined. Heavier bracelet = more whining because their wrist would fatigue.

Make the Sea Dweller with the cyclops and 42-43mm, Rolex. Do those of us who care about something more than the color of the font, a favor. If you've figured a way to be truthful to the depth rating *with* the addition of a cyclops, you win.

Sell it.

Signed, the Everyman.

Could be, but the turn-o-graph was such a poor selling watch that they discontinued it. It had a small cult following, like many of the more funky models, but I don't know that market has changed enough to reintroduce it in a time where swiss watch sales including Rolex are dropping. They're better marketers than that and they need a couple wow pieces...

I'm betting we'll see:
1. some added women's geared pieces (incl discontinuing 26mm size)
2. a coke SS GMT
3. a RG GMT or Sub
4. new SS dj
5. some added DD40 dials
6. some Sea dweller love
7. something new and completely unexpected

I think with current conditions and the new leadership having a full term, we're going to see a big and exciting new year!
