Sorry I am late to the follow up of our great KY GTG but I spent most of the day yesterday traveling from KY to Queens to Manhattan to upstate NY..... needless to say I was exhausted at the end of the day after the plane, train, and automobile.

First, I would like to thank our most gracious hosts Fred and Stan. It was great meeting both of them in person. And Fred was so generous as to provide 'KY GTG' Rolex T-shirts for everyone who attended. It was wonderful chatting with everyone at the cracker barrel, the spaghetti factory dinner and in between. Truly fantastic individuals.

The local AD was incredibly generous and kind. They are #1 in my book. They provided snacks, beer and wine for us and they had a great raffle for some prizes (I think everyone won something). My local AD has about 1% of the kindness and knowledge.

A big congrats to Fred for picking up a new GMT IIc.... a stunner.

So, now when the Northeast GTG comes around I hope to see all of YOU there!

Yes, after 17 hours of driving (and smacking my GPS around a few times for having me take non-existing turns lol) we finally made it back around 9PM yesterday evening. It was worth every minute of driving to meet up with everyone though. I got to make a lot of new friends I hope everyone made it back safely !! Dan - safe travels, I know you'll be traveling Sunday, so have a safe trip !

Wow that sounds like one of the best GTG's every.

I think everyone involved especially Stan and Fred should be congratulated for making it such a pleasant occasion.

I love this photo, kind of like a broadway billboard say "Tonight - Starring ROLEX"

AWESOME

Jim: well, there's always the next one! Dan Pierce said the London GTG was wonderful.
You cannot underestimate the value of the experience of meeting all the great people you talk to online, and feel like you've met....but getting together and breaking bread, talking, joking around, sharing cars, experiences, is fantastic. I encourage everyone again, to organize, and attend. It's a lot of effort but well worth it. Jim, if you fly to NY I know that I and likely more NY members will meet you at JFK, and spoil you rotten. Now if we could only get Bubba to come north.....

Here are some of the horological highlights:

- Latrodectus [and his better half, Helen] was sending his K series GMT II in for service, buying a brand new GMT IIc, and learning about "The Nylon Nation:. Fred also supplied all of us with the KY GTG t shirts.

- Tudorman8276 Stan had the largest collection there with a diverse assortment of DJ's, DD's, and a couple very cool solid gold Tudors. He even opened those to reveal a rare bumper movement in one of them!

- Unclesallie had a gorgeous rootbeer on jubilee and some very nice pocket watches.

- onkyo had a double red SD w a super dome top that was to die for, a meters first red Sub, and a stunning "Steve McQueen" EXP II!

- MikeB had a very sharp Omega Seamaster w/ blue wave dial. And, Mike's mom was a great addition to the group!

- Sunburst had a Sub given to him by his father, a very cool Sinn chrono, and we had a great conversation about his 1959 Les Paul and how he acquired it.

- Slc1310 gave us all speeding tickets and was wearing a beautiful TT GMT [?] or was it a Sub?

- 310Jag, Wes from Merkley Kendrick was wearing a "Bluesy" and his custom made crown cuff links.

- And all the others that joined us at MK Jewelers. Classic Oysters were seen everywhere!

And another special thanks to Merkley Kendrick Jewelers [502 895 6124]. They couldn't have been any nicer or more accommodating. Drinks, gifts, and we could examine any watch to our hearts content like the new DD's and DSSD [you can see the DSSD trying to swallow unclesallie's rootbeer!]. If you live within a couple hours of Louisville I highly urge you to check them before any purchase.

A great time with great people and great watches. It don't get any better than that.

dP
Dan my apologies, I let this one slip away. I should have tried harder to be their. It looks like you and everyone had a wonderful time. I missed a chance to meet some great people. Thanks for the follow up and all the great pics. Take care

Jim,
I was hoping you and Mosco as well as the Cincy TRF members could make it. We'll just have to have a Midwest-Ohio GTG.
As stated above, well worth the effort.
