I'm certainly not able to pick a bottom so I will be buying all the way down. I purchased some when the s&p was down 7.5% which was obviously a premature move and I will buy some today of we are heavily down. I have enough dry power to keep catching this knife and I am looking out many years so I'm not overly concerned about the near term.

That was quick.

Hope everyone's comfy with their asset allocation. We're in for an ugly ride for a while.

The Oracle of Omaha had a little advice for us some time ago:

“Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.”

If you have the stomach for it, and the long term view of an investor (not a trader), then this is bargain season.

Easy for him to say.

There is a serious issue with ETF pricing at the moment, some issues have not reopened so how can you know the true price of an ETF? So many things are based on ETF's today, this is a real problem.

I would not be buying anything today

That's surprising to me. Most fixed income assets are up right now.

Several analysts trying to draw parallels from past events

Typically the failed rally on a Black Monday leads to a low close, the lower open on Tuesday is (historically) the time to buy.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results, I am not suggesting buying/timing anything. Take the info and perform you own due diligence.

Slow climb back, VIX +51 10 yr .57%

Trading seems orderly after the morning stoppage

2:00 pm margin calls, VIX spiked to +55, 10 year down to .49%

I am expecting a fall into the close with another fall tomorrow morning. We then need to see the setup at that point.

Eventually the fundamentals will either remain the same for long enough or change for the better and all the sellers will be exhausted

Several analysts waiting for a VIX over 75 or even into triple digits to signal the start of at least an intermediate term bottom

LOL my fault - I should have indicated I got your sarcasm

We were joking in the office earlier today - when today's opening crash slightly reversed, someone commented: "look, the DOW is only down 1,300." The new optimism

I am far from a genius or guru but when Bob Iger stepped down at Disney I sold everything in my portfolio sans a few dividend stocks. Smart/lucky move on my behalf.....I am waiting to get back into Disney/Apple/Microsoft once the dust settles.

I am 45 so time is on my side in regards to these stocks(fingers crossed/knock on wood)

All the best to everyone-Scott

I have picked my positions long-term, buying a bit here and there but not blowing my load all at once.

Long term as well. Not selling anything. But I’ve asked my guy to sit tight on cash.

I’m not buying anything yet. I’ll be more than content to buy on the way up rather than down. I’m okay with that.

I sure hope it holds.

I hope the markets realize a lot if this is simply panic.

Yes, companies will lose money on lack of production. But not enough to cause this...
