The new ceramic blue DBW is spot on perfect. The blue is much darker than the blue ceramic perpetual. Love it. Was kind of lucky to see it in person yesterday.

I'm not sure anyone can just walk in and ask for a QP RO, but I also assume there aren't that many people willing to drop $150K-$200K on a watch. I asked about a QP last year for my 2nd piece and was told it would only be possible much later on.

btw I did see an orange strap at the boutique last week when I was there, but it did not fit my 26238Ti. I was only able to hold it up to the watch to see how it looked, but imo it works pretty well. Personally I think the grey dial is such a neutral colour that you can use pretty much any colour strap and it would look great.
So a PM jumbo is actually harder than a RO QP? I guess I did get lucky. And now I have my hopes up for an OW.

Gorgeous. Much darker hue than the other blue.

I am surprised it leaked out, given how strict AP is this year.

It's just my best guess based on what my SA says and reading in between the lines. They'll never directly confirm anything but will sort of suggest and guide you and end with their famous "I'll try my best" line. Of course there are probably other factors like the market you're in or how much your SA likes you.

For me personally my SA asked if I would like a steel Jumbo next. I told him I liked the dial on the white gold one more than the steel and I don't have anything from AP in white gold yet. He then suggested that I go for the new QP first. When I asked about the openwork he said that's usually later on after you get a high complication piece.

I don't really care about the order since these are all watches I would want to buy anyways. He knows at this point my wife and I won't buy anything we don't like, for example we told him absolutely nothing that's covered with diamonds and nothing in yellow gold for me lol.

The 43mm is really nice.

Well done to AP for bringing the Bleu Nuit color to the ceramics.

Lovely looking watch.

When I see any of these Open Work dials I do have to wonder how anyone tells the time with them.

Might just be my old eyes, or the lighting in the pictures, but I think I would struggle big time with legibility.

Nobody is buying these watches for the purpose of telling time.. that's what a phone is for.

Your eyes will acclimate really quickly. And you won’t be able to stop looking at it

Of course it is very depending on case by case basis. But at least I can be hopeful.

SA says that getting the 15416CD will be "a little challenge" - i.e., don't hold your breath

I really like the new dark blue ceramic. Are we going to get any white ceramic releases this year? Like maybe a white beast with rose gold markers and hands?

They all look really good...

Another take on AP creative direction lately... new approach to every model is to make it as symmetrical as they can... the latest QP showed that with all the tweaks to start everything aligned with number 1 or first day, the gears on the months, moonphase etc...

This approach also followed the last two 42mm models, the black ceramic from last month and this blue ceramic one... the date box changed to square, AP logo that follows the size, all subdials changed to show 3 numbers instead of 4-3-3 on most models or 12/12/6 on original Beast and reissues...

I also missed the release of this burgundy tourbillon...

Does anyone know the rhyme or reason on APs ceramic bracelets for when they leave the sleave holes open versus closed?

Is this a black ceramic thing?

On the last two black ceramic beast...the holes are open. For pictures of this blue beast...it appears the sleave holes are filled in (I HATE the holes by the way).

Thanks

I was told it is the latest generation of the bracelet, which integrates the ability to remove individual links at any location of the bracelet. My black ceramic beast doesn't have these giant holes, but my 26585ce does. I actually dig them because it adds to a really industrial look to the watch. I believe there are newer deliveries of the 26585ce which are free of these holes.

Just for clarification...you are saying the newest generation HAS the holes?

Newest models don't have holes. They are transitioning all models to not have them.
