Not cordovan. It doesn’t even look like patent leather. Looks like normal calf to me.

I used to be. Then I moved to Florida and with my current job, I haven't worn shoes in a few years.

I'm in search of a solution. I just got these Enzo Bonafe Jumper boots in, I think they are an absolute steal. The fit is perfect, and the suede is better than that. However, this heel stack is just far too tall for the boot. I feel like I will tip over forward...very peculiar stance for such a highly touted mid-tier maker.

I know the proper thing to do is to return them...I know, and I may just do that. But just in case I was feeling a bit more adventurous, where would you aim your efforts? On the THICK Dainite heel, or the 4-layers of heel stack above it? Any other options? I feel like reducing the heel by 2-3mm would make everything right again. I might post this over on r/goodyearwelt at some point as well.

Thanks

I think that heel stack looks great!

Honestly, I prefer more stack on my boots than on my shoes. I have a pair of AE Daltons which I love the look of everything but the low heel.

Agreed.

I guess you could take them to someone local and see what they could do for you, but I wouldn't do anything because they look perfectly fine to me.

I agree it looks fine...better than fine even, which is why I'd like to try to make something work. The problems aren't with the looks, it's the feel. When I am wearing the boots, the forward rake is unlike any other boot I have ever worn.

I haven't had the opportunity to try on Galways and the like, which seem to run a similar forward lean. Maybe I need to just put some miles on them and reconsider. I appreciate the votes of confidence.

The heel looks normal. What feels odd to you? Standing or walking?

Both walking and standing feels off. Imagine your favorite pair of boots, with an extra Dainite heel pad glued over the top of your existing heel.

I've had boots like that. I would put a few more miles on them before making up my mind. Then you can take them to a cobbler to mod the heel if you're still not comfortable.

Axels has a BF sale... 25% everything. This would be a nice discount for some EG Galways if anybody is in the market...

Thinking about these Viberg service boots in natural CXL. I don’t need any more shoes/boots right now, though...

Personally I prefer the ones with the toe cap. Either way great boots.

My wife makes fun of my shoe collection, she says it’s bigger than hers. LV, Plein, Magnanni, Ferragamo.

Funny, the plain toe is kind of how I am justifying these. They’re a bit more casual. Great for a pair of jeans, I think.

What kind of sneakers are those in the first pic? The blue and brown ones.

Magnanni sneakers. The most comfortable of their kind! Love them

I have that Viberg service boot in black chromexcel. I prefer my boots without the toe cap, the first pair I got with a toe cap was my EG Galways. I wear all my boots with jeans. The Vibergs are my favorite summer boots, I had them resoled recently after I basically wore down the sole by walking.

I am into Lv,Gucci , and yeezys sneakers. Nice collection. I actually just bought my first pair of Gucci dress shoes. Up until this pair most where Gucci tennis shoes. I have not modified any of my shoes though. But some of them I have not wore yet due to laziness.

I have a few plain toes but personally favor the ones with the toe cap. Just like that look better I guess.

Speaking of boots, I have not worn my Galways in probably 6 months or more. Now that it’s finally starting to get cool, I can wear them some more!
