Still dreaming about this bottle I had a few nights ago, paired with a delicious dry-aged bone-in ribeye.

Mixed seafood in a vodka sauce over pasta with a Willamette Pinot Noir from Soter Vineyards.

Checking out the new Ascend steak + sushi house in downtown Bellevue, WA. Amazing views, but on the whole can't say great things about their food. The steak was cooked perfectly, but everything seemed to have a 'gimmick' that detracted from the taste of the core ingredients. Why serve a $100 steak when you overwhelm the flavor of the meat? Or serve Ahi crudo but overwhelm it with a smoke flavor?
Regardless, the wine was quite enjoyable! (and yes....I eat early!) |

What time does the Zodiac Sea Wolf on Staib mesh say it is? It’s time to start selecting wines to take up to the mountains for the weekend with old friends.

Excellent choice! Been member at Archery Summit for several years. Never been to their downtown Seattle tasting room. The caves at their main tasting room make for a fantastic place to drink Pinot.

Great bottle. My favs are the Arcus and Red Hills. Drank a ‘10 Red Hills a few weeks back. Was great. One thing about Archery Summit: their pinot ages better than almost any other NW Pinot I’ve drank. While Pinot has a short shelf life compared to Cabs, Archery Pinot always “lives a long life.”

I really like the wine subject. My mother is french and that means I in-heritage her blood and of course some taste. I have drink always red wines. I prefer the heavy red Bordeaux and second to that the Bourgogne. I lives in Californië and tried several wines. I do not why, but a CA wine has too much woodsy taste, and I prefer the fruity heavy taste. I am now 82 years and I started drinking red wines when I was in the twenties.
