What is your opinion of the 4500V/000R-B127, the rose gold with silver dial version of the Overseas.

The thing that always puzzled me is that they don't offer a full gold bracelet with that model, just the "Boutique" special blue dial version.

Is a strap-only option kinda bugging anyone on that model?

I think the short answer is to keep the cost down. I have the RG silver dial Chrono 5500v that comes with straps only. The new blue dial with full bracelet is $73k!! To order the gold bracelet from the boutique is over $20K! It does kind of bug me because I cannot justify paying over $20K for the gold bracelet.

It's a bit annoying. I always try to get the bracelet version from the get go because the watchmakers charge such a premium for bracelets as a separate item. The retail price on the 4500V/000R-B127 is $39k while the boutique blue dial with bracelet is $54.5k. If the bracelet alone is $20k, then that's an almost $5k premium just for the bracelet.

Then again, first world problems, right?

I believe the rose gold bracelet is $24k

I have a few VC OVS models in RG that were strap only. I ended up getting the blue chrono that comes on bracelet. What I will say is that now that I can put the bracelet on the strap-only watches, is in my mind they look a bit goofy, perhaps because my brain knows that they never came from VC this way as an OEM offering. But I tend to wear my RG VCs on straps more than bracelet anyway for one reason or another. That said, the RG Chrono on bracelet is a whole different level. Frankly, any configuration of the blue dial RG on bracelet is marvelous.

I really wish that luxury watch makers would offer their straps and bracelets at more reasonable prices. It's so commonplace to swap straps nowadays that offering a large assortment of reasonably priced straps will only add to the appeal and not detract from it. The Overseas collection is the prime example of that. By adding two additional straps (at a cost of probably <$300 to VC), the watch suddenly was embraced as such a deal by the watch community, nevermind that the extras represents only 1% of the watch price.

I agree, I would love to purchase a gold bracelet for my Chrono 5500v but I just cannot justify paying over $20k for one. Really stands out with the bracelet though.

Just tried the vagenari rubber.

It's definitely thinner than the oem but that made it easier to add an extra hole as the oem was either a little tight or loose.

Less wrist flare too now it's sized properly.
I thinks it drapes over the wrist more as it's not as stiff.

Worth having!

I really liked the look of the bracelet on my 7900v, not enough though to justify ordering one.

Finally got a chance to play around with a few different straps. Looks really nice on the calfskin strap. (All straps oem except for the white vagenarj)

Obligatory pic of the nifty peripheral rotor, too. I tried to take the pic from an angle to show the depth of the rotor better.

This is great input. I also found the OEM rubber strap flair out too much on my wrist due to its stiffness, and am curious to try the Vagenari. It would be great if you can post some pictures as comparison.

Did you punch an extra hole on the strap or do they just fit different with the existing holes?

Had to punch an extra hole which I couldn't bring myself to do with the OEM.
It helps that the strap is thinner and a little more pliable.
To be honest it feels cheaper to touch but still looks good.

Who will win. Silver panda or his arch-nemesis, Dark Panda.

I will say the date execution is slightly preferable on the silver dial. I grew to very much dislike the date window on my 5500V to the point I wished they'd just left it off. The disk should have been silver toned and not paper white. The white works great on the 4500V IMO.

I wonder how it would’ve looked with a black ceramic bezel

I love VC and chronos but I'm not sure what it is about the Overseas chronos that just seems "off" to me... I still prefer the dual time to this.

Case to bracelet ratio is about 2:1. That's pretty extreme. Could make the pics looks bulbous. In person this is not the case thankfully.

Good point. I remember trying it on at the boutique and thinking they were quite chunky at almost 14mm.

On the topic of chronographs I figure I'll just leave these here since there's VC fans. It arrived last night. Awaiting 222 call next.

It’s a bit on the thicker side but I love mine! Definitely a substantial watch!

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but there is a hell of a deal at EWC for a 6000v/110a Nearly 20% below MSRP. If this were the 4300v I would be all over it.
