Haven’t bought any dress shoes in a while and have actually consolidated big time.

Instead, I recently bought 2 pairs of Yeezys lol.

Ya, me either. Even though there is snow on the ground, looking at some boat shoes for spring. Might do a couple from Quoddy. Usually a Rancourt guy but like a couple of the Q casual styles in Navy--the Canoe shoe and the Runabout both look nice or the classic boat shoe.

Frankly once you get to a certain point off season ordering is the best way to go. Either end of season sales or ordering your Summer shoes in Winter so they will be on hand for the beginning of Summer or Boots are ordered at the end of winter so they will be there for the next season.

I also have one pair of shoes from Qouddy. I found the quality on par with Rancourt but I have many more from Rancourt as I find I like Rancourts style much more than Quoddy.

This is interesting.

Gaziano Girling Ltd are renowned for making the finest classic contemporary shoes, however we realised there is a demand for a very traditional classic English shoe that represents an understated aesthetic but still maintains a quality that shines.

As a result, we have created a small line of classic English styles with a very classic and simple last shape. We have toned down the lines of our regular range, lowered the heel and taken away some of the more sculptured features of the sharper Gaziano Girling bench made shoe to make this shoe as English as can be. There are 5 styles, Churchill the classic punched cap toe oxford, Barder the classic semi-brogue oxford, Chamberlin a full brogue country derby shoe, Wallis the casual suede Chukka boot and finally the Chadwick a classic English loafer.

My JL Paris bespoke shoes. Took nearly 2 years to get a finished product. Originally was measured in March 2016 and then had multiple fittings. Received a finished product late summer of 2018 but the shoes weren’t fitting quite right and had to be sent back. My last was modified and shoes were basically redone. Received the modified shoes this week and the fit and look are much better.

I did 3 trial fittings in Houston along with meeting the master last maker in Paris. After meeting the master last maker in Paris on a private tour of the workshop, we thought all the sizing issues were worked out so the workshop made the shoes. This is why it took nearly 18 months to get my initial finished shoes. Once I received them, I wore them for a couple of months to see how they fit and broke in. I felt like they overcompensated for my wide feet and put too much space in the toe box and width. I had them sent back to Paris to correct the issues right before Christmas. The corrections fixed the sizing issues and also made the shoes look less bulbous and more sleek. At least as sleek as the workshop could make them given my wide feet without changing the style aesthetic of John Lobb Paris.

Sounds like it all got sorted out in the long run and I’m glad to hear that. There have been a few occasions where i’ve had to wait a bit longer than anticipated for a few custom items myself but the outcome has always been well worth the wait. Sometimes a return may also be necessary but as long as your dealing with the right people then the customer service is usually top notch as well. Thanks for sharing and once again Congratulations.

Not dressy but fun. Finally received the custom Quoddy

A nice deck shoe, but definitely prefer Rancourt for loafers and boat shoes. However, Quoddy offers much more in custom designs.

It's been a real education on high end dress shoes and thanks to you all, I now have two pairs of EGs. These are easily the most comfortable pair of dress shoes I've ever owned and you can really tell the quality, thickness and durability of the leather and the workmanship and craftsmanship involved. You certainly get what you pay for!

I blame you all for this enabling! I thought accumulating watches was bad enough. I think we may need to ask Steve to create a new dress shoes sub-forum...

I'm now looking at the Viberg Service Boots as a casual boot option....

Funny, but scrolling up instead of down which is how I opened this page I could tell these were C&J. Couldn't come up with the name but I knew they were C&Js. I've actually thought about and often came close to getting a pair of Pembrokes.
