Some New Zealand wine

Didn't buy this one when we were recently in New Zealand, but we did by winery while out touring (gorgeous drive out on the east coast of Waiheke Island). Last Bottle had it on offer a while back so decided to give a shot.

Just opened so want to wait for it to warm up and open a bit before making a judgement, but so far proving to be a meatier syrah than the others I recall trying in the region.

Went through a couple of bottles of 2005 Rioja Alta 904 last night. Simply divine and cracking value for money. Highly recommend it. I am happy that I still have well over a case left to drink! 2007 is great too - tried that in Princeton a couple of weeks back.

I think Rioja Alta will release their 2010 904 this year. This should be a corker given vintage quality in general - highly recommend grabbing a case on release.

Nothing outrageous but the 2012 wines are soooo tasty. It's been awhile since I'd has a cab franc and enjoyed it a lot!

My true passion is Italian wines. I love them all! Sure, that means the popularly misnamed Super Tuscans and of course the fabulous Barolo's and Barbaresco from Piedmont but really it's the breadth and depth of their common wines, their table wines and even the wines formerly considered peasant wines.

At Vice Versa with Patrice Breton, in addition to barrel sampling 2017 and 2016 bottlings, he opened his 2004 Beckstoffer.

Agreed. Wish I got in early. I mooch off all my friends allocations. It’s awesome because the guys that are grandfathered in early, their cost is cheap!!!

Decent - but I will tell you - it needed to be drank. It’s definitely on the decline - not all all like the 04 or 06-07.

Still VERY VERY good. Glad we drank it!!

Some excellent wines there!!!

Love the Tor - Black magic — such a neat wine - with lots of complexity to the blending - but always ends so seamlessly.

And the Morlet....
