I've been out of the loop for a year or so now, was wondering if anyone had insight into how the blue datejusts are like at the moment? Hoping to pick one up grey for a gift but the event isn't for a few months yet. Buy now or is it likely to be weakening? Likely fluted with oyster.

Within a few months, I’d roll the dice at ADs.you can get it. DJs are trading at/slightly below retail for new. Don’t think we’ll see a further notable dip over the next few months

Interesting, thank you! Unfortunately were I am we only have Goldsmiths where I'm likely blacklisted after putting in a complaint so not holding my breath for anything from them ever really, including a Casio.

Is the blue stick 126334 really trading below retail? Could be tempted to pick one up.

Anyone on MODA see the fake Tiffany nautilus that got posted last night and started all kind of fireworks? Not sure I understand how that post was allowed as it was essentially a fake watch. Saw he posted a legit one today and all the comments are a big circle jerk about how he shot down all the "haters". Haters as in other members who called out that the watch was fake and that it shouldn't be posted on Moda. Seems all those "haters" got muted. what a joke.

Yes I don’t understand why the Facebook group wants to cheapen itself with fake watches like that. Also why does a dealer who sells 7 figure watches bother with a fake Patek?

Exactly! The whole thing is so strange (especially all the minions who are pumping this guy up). I honestly can't stand to read the comments on the post (they are so pathetic).

GGGMT I haven't checked in with you in awhile -- any word on if we hit bottom yet? My sources tell me we will hit bottom at 2:14 AM EST on August 29th (see if anyone here gets the reference).

So something that costs about $12,000 and is trading at around $15,000 is 155% over?

What's most odd to me, is as l've said in AP forum
If you're truly into collecting/horology, why would you NOT want the market to go back to normalcy.....you can get more watches, will still maintain around MSRP, flippers are gone. It's a win win everywhere.
No offense to anyone but I feel like the only ones who are bent in this not going down more, wanting prices to stay higher, thinking we're stabilizing....paid grey or flip themselves. As it doesn't make any sense to me otherwise

The whole saga with those watches has been an absolute farce. Who in their right mind would hand that goose $2.65m for a 5711 after posting the fake one? And all the back slappers upping the bloke was just icing on the cake. V Moda was in there commenting too.

My guy, psm11! Great post and appreciate having a little fun with some lighter posts on pricing! I’m trying to get the reference above — gimme til tomorrow and maybe I figure it out.

Unfortunately, there seems to have been a very noticeably decline in the main MODA group in terms of both credible, quality pieces and actual trade prices. Between V Moda continually pumping up the RWB group and the eternal tug-fest that happens in the comments, there's little reason to shop there now.

However, I will note that the MODA under 10 grand group seems to have avoided much of the idiocy/hive mind/wankery of the main group. There's still genuine deals to be had there if you're dilligent.

All very true. I’m chalking it up to V Moda watch business feeling the slump in the market so he’s promoting the pay to join group and keeping the good stuff there as another source of revenue.

This.

I would never pay above MSRP for a watch, they're not an investment. Flipper/scalpers and even grey dealer ruined the hobby of watch collecting.

Agree but I think it’s all relative. If you really want say a Royal oak very unlikely you are going to get one as your first piece. So MSRP is really an illusion in that case. I don’t mind paying a bit over if it means I can have the watch tomorrow. Certainly cheaper than buying a bunch of crap you don’t want to get the piece you do.
