Trimmed CRM at the open, too much of a gain to ignore

I usually hate to chase higher but I started a small position in ABT, their new test is too much to ignore and the reset of their product pipeline is strong, not much yield but price target raises and good technicals are showing solid earnings growth

Cramer loves Powell's move - claims Powell is with the bulls, which is great for me to hear.

TikTok looking to be sold in the next few days - the FSLY dip was huge overselling, as we've discussed. Stay strong!

Sold FSLY again at 95 after re-entering at 76. Third time cycling this stock and making 20-30% each time. Only stock I'm doing this to but starting to make me feel like a day trader

Will look to re-enter sub 80, if it gets there.. still think that is fair price for it at this point in time.

Agree - it's a great trading stock, just like SE. Buy calls on deep red days, sellout on green. Rinse, repeat.

Though, I'm very long in both.

At $2200 ; I think this is a hold to $2500...and through battery day and the likely S&P 500 listing announcement (anticipated end of Sep)

Thoughts?

I'm holding TSLA.

I sold out of half way too early a couple months ago and have been slowly building back up.

Musk is a wild one - but he's also crazy genius. You cannot compare TSLA to any other stock, as we all have seen over the last few years - you're essentially betting on the CEO here, and I'm not one to go against him.

TSLA's VERY expensive - but they're not a car company IMO, they're a tech one and that's how I'm valuing my shares.

Wanted to catch it back in the high 80s this a.m., but was distracted. May have to sit this one out unfortunately.

Breaking! WMT and MSFT to team-up on the TikTok sale.

How this will work, I'm interested to see.

Reading comments like this from the Musk oil salesman I guess the SEC is another casualty of deregulation.

Tesla Inc's chief executive Elon Musk has suggested the U.S. electric carmaker may be able to mass produce longer-life batteries with 50% more energy density in three to four years.

Agreed, I am curious as well

Markets rolling over, the Fed news is wearing off when people start to look at current economics.

Profit taking is to be expected as we are getting really over extended at least in the short term

I raised a bit of cash today. Added to Emergent, looks like rotation out of biotech but this is a defensive play that still looks attractive at this valuation and I think in the fall it may see more upside.

I took profit in a few cyclical calls (WYNN for one) to buy more tech on this slight dip.

Strategy for me is just share-accumulation at this point. Really like the positions I'm in, and just want to continue to build shares.

We dip more, I buy more.

Stocks running back to the highs of the day, not a bad day technically, A/D is 4-3 188 new highs and 301mm shares traded

MSFT and JPM are the standouts in the Dow

I’m interested in STOR. Should I just buy here or wait for a pullback? I plan to hold it long term. Thanks B.

Pared down to AAPL, TSLA, MRVL, and TCNNF. Pretty much flying by the seat of my pants. Thinking about getting back into RKT. Only reason I jumped into A and T is because I’m bidding parts of their new campuses here.

Is anyone looking yet into airlines or are those still on the hands-off list? Especially now that there seems to be a 2nd wave of covid popping up in parts of Europe?

Well STOR requires homework, it has moved nicely up from March, rents are still down but not badly. The dividend is currently safe with a 76% payout ratio

https://seekingalpha.com/news/360658...lections-of-86

Not sure you would get the kind of pullback you are looking for in a long term hold. I am keeping my position here as I believe it can only be better 12-18 months from today.

I would not touch the airlines or anything else in the travel space. Some are playing the hot money trade but that is not investing. Ask yourself why you would want to own any airline in the current business climate and you will have most of your answer.

Walmart, TikTok, Amazon, Shinzo Abe - 5 Things You Must Know Friday

Looking like a quiet Friday, next week should be even quieter given the calendar.

I am sticking with my positions and cash levels, I will evaluate AAPL post split

Article is from a couple days ago but still a great read, especially with the message put out by the Fed yesterday.

Economy itself might be in shambles, but that doesn't mean that we aren't in bull territory.

I agree however I am mindful that the longer the run and the larger the disconnect, the greater chance for a fall.

Technically the market does not look good. The next few months will be very rocky for the markets. I am looking to take my cash higher in the next three months.

Definitely a time to stay vigilant! Massive moves both ways have defined this market, and I don't expect that to cease anytime soon - but do think the trajectory should remain upward overall.

There’s just so much of the market still dragging behind, once FAANG+M takes an extended break, things could get dicey... but ya, vigilant is a great word for it.

yeah, no. gut reaction is that i wouldn't touch airlines with a 10ft pole at the moment. but, as i'm still green here, wasn't sure if that was an indication that it's time to jump in, or really still time to stay away.

People have different views on what they want to put their money into.

It is not for me to say that it is right or wrong, all I am doing in this thread is giving my view. Everyone needs to do their own homework.

Bottom line is that the markets are flooded with "hot" money looking for a score. That is not investing. Using the term "playing" the market, means it is a game to some. And those are the ones that will eventually get burned, you will just never hear them admit it.

I discuss my gains and losses. I am not always right and try to learn from my mistakes.

The airlines are saddles with massive debt, no end to their capacity slowdown and they have issues with laying off personnel and planes. When the stocks jump because someone says there is a vaccine, again that is not investing.

Investing is looking at a stock and deciding, why do you want to own a piece of that business. If a person thinks that business will do well in the future then they should put their money there.

Personally I do not want to own travel stocks. Their outlook is not good. There are far too many stocks I want to own and I never have enough capital to invest.

Those are two points that I greatly agree with.

Don't invest in the next hot thing because others are doing it (or because someone on the board, like me, told you about it). Do your research and invest in companies that make sense for now, and in the future.

I'm here for growth stocks, but I don't jump heavily into anything without doing a large amount of DD and watching the stock for awhile.

On the last point in bold - people ask why I'm not in this or that. Many times it's because I just don't have the funds to do it, as I've invested elsewhere!

It's important to know which companies you truly believe in and are willing to invest in. There are quite a few companies I like and have invested in the past (blue-chips like NKE, DIS, etc.), but outlooks are ever-changing and they have just moved lower on my list of must-haves.

One author's views on trading TJX via options, which I do agree is nicely valued here.

However, I go the other way and buy long-term calls versus puts.
