Just signed an offer letter for a new job so decided to break out something nice from the cellar mid week.

Well Done, Roger.
Nice to drink something a bit special (lovely old wine) for a special occasion.

Saturday night - fun food - Pizza night!
Ready to go into the oven. (We like our Pepperoni)
Last bottle of the '04 Chateau Tahbilk. Drinking beautifully.
Billy Joel's best album on the player.

Fabulous wine. Took spending thousands of dollars and putting my ego aside to admit that I am not a Burgundy or Bordeaux fan, but I love Southern Rhone. Clos Des Papes is very nice.

sorry about loss. I was happy with this one and it was a nice change from the cabs we usually drink.

Full bodied fragrant and fabulous Ozzie red. Oaky, with hints of pepper spice and cherries rounded up by a plumy mouthfeel and luscious Shiraz.

See me at Bosbevok on YouTube.
The financial and emotional commitment I have spent on left bank & Burgundy wines is both impressive and depressing... both... simultaneously... at the same time... all at once... together... side by side... also.

Birthday dinner at the local steakhouse last night. Didn't take a photo of the main event -- 2012 Lewis Reserve. It definitely would have benefited from several more years in the cellar (I also don't think Lewis' style is our thing, but wanted to give it a try)

We're a member of the restaurant's wine club, and they were kind enough to bring out a little digestif for us. The lighting made for a fun photo I thought...

Had quite the evening with some very generous friends to celebrate a bday. Everything was drinking well, though some were drinking in a different realm than the rest (ahem, 2010 Gonon VV).

Still need to get a pic of the 2000 and 2011 Allemand, as well as the 2005 Trollat........

1990 was great for burgundy and Rhone, killer bottles, surprised you didn't single out the Chave, Was it flawed?

Chave was pretty good.

Gonon VV just crushed it. One of the best Northern Rhône’s I’ve ever had.
